As if ninja and shroud didn't get enough out of it. Now they forced Mixer to pay them out (30 and 10 million $) and are free agents. So the next day they can go back to twitch again and shoveling even more money.
Man this gets disgusting, shroud even takes private flights nowadays not to miss a WoW raid :D
Its only a matter of time when the biggest streamer will overtake even the biggest athletes in earnings.
they already have all the viewers and streamersWhat is it about Twitch that makes it preferred to Mixer? It seems like a not great product either.

mixer could be 10 times better, short term still nobody would switch

How is that a counterarguement to the point though? For a lot of providers, a perspective market in a third world is just as important as the market in first world countries. The earlier you can secure a market - the better. Another point is this is raw numbers, and as you can very clearly see by the chart, it's biased extremely towards countries with... very high population, which tends to be outside of "western world". It's the exact same thing I have to explain to countless people when I moved to Netherlands "But NoBoDy uses facebook, tell me a single person who would prefer facebook over whatsapp!" And I come from a place, where I could count on my fingers people that had whatsapp, and purely because they had family living outside. And absolutely everyone inside used facebook messanger. Those numbers are indeed huge. But as I don't know anyone who is still using FB actively I've got curious where these big numbers are coming from and it turns out that most users are from third world countires and the US. (https://www.statista.com/statistics/268136/top-15-countries-based-on-number-of-facebook-users/)
At least in germany I can't see them gaining many viewers because FB doesn't enjoy a good reputation here.

This is actually a common marketing ploy; at some point a product or service will hit a ceiling, even though there is still growth potential.
Rebelion, identification, polarisation or put simply: taste differences, push certain people away from one product towards another, quite often the other product is in fact from the same company.
Facebook/messenger, whatsapp, instagram are a prime example of this.
I agree your point but that does not apply to FB case here11

Companies will often even promote "rivalry" between their own products, increasing the total market share.
What will they get for Win 8 then? A tactical nuke on their HQ? (Hope this does not happen)PS
Mixer's failure is karma for creation and distribution of Windows Vista.
