TL;DR: We’ve made a handy tool for anyone to create AoE2 build guides and easily share them with friends, or make them publicly available for everyone at aoecompanion.com. Check it out and let us know what you think about it!
Hello!
About a month ago, my friend Nik and I launched aoecompanion.com and we’ve been getting a lot of great feedback on how to make it more useful. We already improved on a few things since then, but we’ve also been working on a really big feature that we think could end up being very useful for the AoE2 Community: our own Build Guide Creator!
What is it?
Simply put, it’s just an easy way to create a detailed AoE2 build order/guide that looks very good in pretty much every device, and has some nice features that make it handy to read while playing. The editor looks like this, and can create build guides like this one.
How do I share my builds?
When you publish your build guide, it will show up in this page and you’ll get a handy short link to share it anywhere. You can also keep your build unlisted (you’ll get a shareable link for the build but it won’t show up in our website) or totally private, if you prefer.
Future improvements

Future improvements
- For now, the Build Creator itself (not the Builds you make with them!) is only usable in tablets or desktop computers. If there’s enough demand for this, we’ll make it work in mobile too, but it will take a bit of time!
- To use the Build Creator, you need to make an account on our site. For now, it’s only possible to register using your email and password. We are looking into adding a “Login with Google/Facebook/Discord” feature for people that would prefer an alternative!
