What does everyone think of giving Magyar knights +2 to pierce armor? +1 in Castle age and +1 in Imp. Somewhat similar to Teutons +2 melee armor. +1 in castle and +1 in imp.
Reason: almost every knight civ has a bonus directed towards knights. Huns produce faster, Berbers are cheaper, Franks more HP, Cumans move faster, Persians +2 attack vs archers, Teutons, as mentioned above, more melee armor, Lithuanians more attack via relics
Also Magyars have no eco bonus and have a very average start as a result. They do have 2 power spikes (one in early feudal and one in early castle) which puts them on a clock to do damage. Having failed to do that, it's a lost cause because most other civs can easily outboom Magyars.
Sure Magyar late game is formidable but due to no eco bonus, they rarely get there. And even when they do, upgrading cav archers takes time and is expensive. Building multiple castles to keep up production of Magyar Huszars is also a very challenging assignment. All this while behind economically.
I feel that giving them knights with extra pierce armor helps bridge that gap somewhat. Thoughts?
