AOE-II DE Lets make DM World Cup 5 happen

Hello fellow Age of empires II passionate community,

A group of us experienced Deathmatch (DM) players and community builders is working towards hosting the fifth edition of the renowned DM World Cup. We are expecting to host the final stages of the event in late summer 2022, meaning that the qualifications should take place shortly before that. Our goal is to raise at least $10 000 for this event to match the previous year’s prize pool, and so far we are half way there. With this prizepool, we are dedicated to making this event stand out among the numerous RM, EW and AoE4 S‑tier events in 2022.

With the imminent launch of the ranked DM lobbies, the timing is ideal for an event that really showcases how exciting and straight to the action DM can be.

Since they already got half of the prize pool before asking for money from the community, they obviously already reached out to sponsors. Not every potential sponsor always has the budget or interest to fund a project. You don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Obviously it's your choice if you would donate to the prize pool, but I think openly communicating about the current prize pool (5k) and asking for support from the community is not a bad thing.

As a player who has participated in both previous DMWCs I can honestly say it was one of the most fun times I had ever playing Aoe. Not only does it bring multiple communitys together to train as a whole; But it also allows spectators who love high action packed games to enjoy some new fast paced content from their favorite steamers!

Any support is appreciated. I promise you don't want to miss out on this year's DMWC5. You won't regret it!

To me this would be an amazing thing for not just the DM community but for DE in general - although DM has taken a few hits it's not too late to revive it and this would be a fantastic place to start. DM offers a change of pace to RM and there are several of us who would be very happy to help players learn to play it - there are plenty of current and potential AOE players who I'm certain would love the fast and action-packed way that DM can be played once you have the basics down. People who currently play other games as well would be very attracted to come and play if they could see gaming like this. A great thing for DE and for DM.

Events like DMWC5 always brings excitement and positive vibes. It brings amazing, action packed and thrilling games.

I discovered the DM Community when they were fundraising for DMWC3 and became fascinated by the game mode and the community. they were working so incredibly hard to fundraise to their 10K goal and when the event started, I was so beyond impressed. WOW, the DM Community knows how to pull off an amazing event and it keeps getting better every time.

DM World Cup is the highlight of the year for us in this community and is a chance to share this super fun game mode with people who haven't discovered it yet. Please help make this event a reality! Long Live DM ~

Ahhhh, I remember the good ol days of 2021 when DM was still in the ranked ladder. Excited to see this event happen and have it usher in a new group of people who are eager to try out the DM ranked lobby system when it arrives!
Come on Microsoft, give DM the money to needs to fund this awesome tournament!
