I am not allowed to play in this tourney because my highest achieved rating in 1v1 is 1680, due to the fact that while mbl was visiting me, he played on my account for fun or saved my butt when I was being an upset girlfriend. I rarely play 1v1s and pretty much every game I've actually played myself, I lost. My rating now is 1552 in 1v1. ops:

I would love to see her play and I think most ppl wouldnt mind as Im sure what she says is truth. But I think there are rules and we should not put more preassure on the organiser.

While the 1650 max rated rule is a bit vague in terms of its application, having a rule and following it is important if you want to take a tournament serious. It's been mentioned already, but if she's allowed to play, what's to stop anyone else from saying their 1650+ rating was from months ago, and they haven't played so they're rusty? Too many ambiguities.

Well .. Considering she is not playing at 1650 level after the games she played its very sad that I ruined this for her.. I mean, I dont think people would actually be mad if Odette played in there. I would never play on the account and I'm not gonna do it again, I just did it while visiting. It was only my fault that she got 1680 and I think it would be fair to give it a chance at least, maybe put the rating to 1680 in the rules 11 idk, its not like its a super duper serious tourney

And tries to convince the admins of letting her play by confesing a much bigger fault, (account sharing) mentioned in Voobly's code of conduct, and involves another player in said fault with nickname and everything....

+1 to play. There is a reason people are needed to run things and not just static rules. It's not an unknown player so it's not that hard to put it together. Instead of just a flax max rating achieved maybe you should look at average rating over x amount of recent months.

If highest is well over 17+ well then you have an easy case to not allow that player. Lighten up!

While i am more than sure that odette is definitely, not 1650+, i have to say this jd just karma for cheating... How would you feel being a 15++, killing your 15++ opponent, getting slight advantage minute by minute, and then in imp you get totally wrecked because 2k4+ took over the account

+1 to this line of reasoning, although I can certainly see why the initial decision was against I think it would be good to be flexible here, it sounds like ObL learned their lesson about account sharing

I chose to go public with this after talking to mbl and him saying I should definitely try to play and to get other people's say in this. I just want to say a few words regarding the people suggesting we would "cheat" in this tournament.

My thoughts: is it really account sharing when the other person is your partner and is in the same room with you? Has no one here ever let their girlfriend/wife/friend/dog try to play? I didn't even think about it as cheating because it wasn't with the purpose of boosting up my rating, it was just for fun. Believe it or not, I didn't choose to date mbl because of his rating. :roll: I honestly didn't give it any thought because I simply don't take these things this seriously. (Also, mbl simply likes to smurf, you'll have to ask him if you want to know why). There are many reasons why we would not do this again (like that I'm in Taiwan and he's in Norway and he simply can't take over mid-game), and DEFINITELY NOT in a tournament I caused a scene to participate in (like, really?).

I don't play 1v1s, I couldn't care less about what my rating is, it only occurred to me that it has once been this high after checking it for the purpose of signing up for this tournament. Although I don't play 1v1s regularly, I do enjoy playing them in tourneys, when I have the chance to. I thought the rating range was there to assure the players are more or less at the same level, nothing else. It's very obvious I am at this level, or, well, way below, while you have people with 17x TG rating signing up without problems.

I have to say, I'm glad so many people chose this opportunity to point out how very noob I am. :lol: :roll: on the other hand, I appreciate any words of support.

I'm sorry for any caused complication, I hope the tourney will proceed smoothly and everyone will have fun. I wanted to at least try, because there most likely won't be another tourney I could actually stand a chance in anytime soon. Gotta train to actually become 1650+ I guess. ops:
