Serious question?Sorry, but what is the problem with ALT+F4 in TG???
Like one person wasting the time of 7 players ?

one person leaves before the game even starts because they don't like the map chosen by the matchmaking, so it cancels the game for all players involved, wasting 5-8 minutes per atlf4so one person leaves and crash all the game???

Its way too many civs tbh, im kinda there. I played singleplayer William walles demo for hours and hours when I were a kid and got a few games on zone right before AoM hit. I later reached good lvl in AoM, AoE3 and I found out in eastern DE existed. So i dont consider myself all new since I know the basics from childhood. At this point as a regular player I can barely keep up and remembering all the changes ingame, can't imagine how much new players struggle to try to learn all this **** constantly changing. Most of the changes are completely unnecessary, and don't balance **** either
boyar, paladin, ETK, BULG cavalier, MAL cavalier, BER cavalier, leitis, battle/war ele (although they can't run them down, being elephants)Sicilians btw gonna have the first unit without a counter, ever
In aoeforums you would find a well redacted post of highly skilled players "its nice to have finally town patrol for free and follow the free tech upgrade track" because you know there is coherence with it.Free town patrol? vhaaat? Im gonna troll the heck out of it with my outpost spam in the next games, free spies baby! Seriously, what are they thinking? this is totally unnecessary
I really like that change!Free town patrol? vhaaat? Im gonna troll the heck out of it with my outpost spam in the next games, free spies baby! Seriously, what are they thinking? this is totally unnecessary
We're not there yet, but I really feel like at some point MS should consider locking new civs behind custom games and SP, while leaving a curated set of ~~30-33 civs for matchmaking and tournament purposes, which would allow them to do all sorts of random wacky **** with new civs while not hurting the competitive scene too much.I would pay for a DLC that removes civs
The only reason I can't think for that change in the Malians is if one of the new civs take over the free gold mining upgrade. Otherwise it is completely unecessary (it still is unecessary anyway). In a quick look I saw the first gold mine in medieval Europe was in Slovakia. Was that region under Bohemian or Pole control?
It was settled by Slovak ancestors, however since 1000 AD till 1918 it was part of Kingdom of Hungary. Later, after mongol invasion German settlers were invited by kings that granted them privileges. German settlers brought with them improved mining technology and thanks to privileges they kept industry and economical life in their hands. Later, when Slovaks and Magyars wanted to settle in cities and take part in economical and political life, they were opposed by Germans so badly, that kings had to order a decree, that would allow them to buy house and settle in cities. The only reason I can't think for that change in the Malians is if one of the new civs take over the free gold mining upgrade. I find it hard to believe that Howdah will go from being pretty much unused in 1v1s to "OP as hell" with just +0/+1.Howdah was OP as hell when it was introduced, there's a reason that stupid tech was nerfed.
Well back then the elite upgrade was cheaper, the tech was cheaper, BE did more damage, had more trample damage, did more damage to buildings, and probably more I’m forgetting. BE aren’t as strong when howdah was +1/2.Howdah was OP as hell when it was introduced, there's a reason that stupid tech was nerfed.
BE were nerfed really hard IDK if they will be OP or not with this change to Howda, but if they are, they will not be as OP as they where back in voobly. I'm more concerned for sicilians Kts/ cumans nowWell back then the elite upgrade was cheaper, the tech was cheaper, BE did more damage, had more trample damage, did more damage to buildings, and probably more I’m forgetting. They're thinking they can change the game in whatever way they feel like because they know you'll still play it.Seriously, what are they thinking?
You left out the most important part - r/aoe2 jerking off the devs no matter what.1) add position-picking to the game
2) ban random civ because you think you're hot ****
3) alt+f4 every map where franks aren't OP
4) complain whenever there's an alternative to spamming frank paladin, so that devs nerf it
5) play frank mirrors all day and then cry about smurfs / matchmaking / allies whenever the opposing pkt is faster than yours
6) teamgames are dead, so devs just make a bunch of weird changes that singleplayer people asked for while toeing the line just enough not to piss off the streamers who just play 1v1 ara all day
7) ara is unplayable as a result of 1, 2, 4, 5. every map where someone can make a castle safely is unplayable because of 6. any map with water/fish is alt+f4'd because of 3
8) wonder why teamgames are dead
