Speaking of seeding: in the handbook it says that besides rating also past tournament performance will be considered. Have you already decided how this will be incorporated/which part tournaments are included?

Also, have you considered/could you consider changing the seeding to a system based on players seeding each other? I think one would obtain more accurate seedings this way than taking rating

You're allowed to help with everyhing, but registration. I'd like them all to accept our policies before signing up for the tournament. It's a very simple registration process - make sure to read through our new handbook and make sure everyone understand it.

Another question: Is it possible to spectate in the lobby if you pay the $50? So you won't stream it, but just want to spectate because you prefer to do that.

Also do cocasters have to pay the fee as well or can the main caster give them the password of the lobby for free as long as they are not streaming?

I might suggest that the first three civs chosen are banned from future rounds. So if someone wins 3-0 vs an easy opponent, and someone wins 3-2 vs a hard opponent, they both still only have those first three civs banned. The strategy comes in when you are up 2-0 and you try to win with a weaker civ... and then maybe blow your advantage. I feel like this would still add some deliberation to civ choices, but it would not unduly punish those with tougher early round matchups.

maybe we can get a top15 Civ list to see what the matchup could be in round 3 for someone who won 3-2 twice (wasting 10 civs) vs someone who won 3-0 twice saving his or her top5 civs.

I cant really say how big your disadvantage would be but i feel like even the 2nd tier civs can be really strong, so certainly the 2nd round will be interesting. Maybe the 3rd round can be a little bit boring.
Or what would be an example for a civ win with those settings?

I agree only maya azt indians and slavs seem to be slightly ahead of the others imo.

I think this is very different from what was intended though, because for the last two games you can basicly use 2 of the best civs in every match, which will lead to a mappool that's a lot smaller (you'll only see top 9 civs) and you'll see a lot more civilizations picked multiple times per player and more mirror match-ups as well for the last 2 games.

It can help you only after you make the top 32. Don't think it will be taken into account for picking the top 32. This was clarified by Chrazini in another thread.

... The tournament rating is used for the seeding, and seeding only.
In the very rare case of two people having the exact same elo on the 32th spot, we might take the tournament rating into account.

To clarify - the 32 highest rated players will make it into the tournament (if they have played all 15 required games), once we've found the 32 players to enter the tournament, we will use the tournament rating for seeding.

We won't know who is really the 2nd best player without a double elimination because the 2nd best player might be kicked out by Viper before reaching the grand final. Similarly, if ppl want to know who is the 3rd best player in the world, make this tournament a triple elimination!

But then what about people who stream in other languages, like GKT_Cloud or Riverplation? They are not competitors of Memb, but would still have to pay to have access to stream the games.

I don't think it is about language. Twitch and Youtube are blocked in China mainland, so Memb's official streaming and youtube channels are not accessible to the Chinese community. There is literally no other way for the Chinese fans to watch live stream of this tournament without their own localized stream. If one can prove that the official channels are not accessible to users in their region, he/she should be entitled to have their own stream as well.
