We're only monitoring Twitch and YouTube. Players streaming on any Chinese platform is allowed to do so.

How does the streaming policy apply to casting recorded games after the games have already been played/streamed live? The Recorded Games section says the games will be made "publicly available". Is anyone free to stream or to upload videos of the recs after they're posted?


Looking at the map script, as much as I enjoy how birds interfere with boar stealing, I personally prefer not having this happen during tournament games. You could consider either removing birds from the map, or setting their line of sight to 0 so they don't interfere with boar stealing (although it may be confusing to have birds with inconsistent behavior from other maps). Of course other people may prefer standard bird behavior and this doesn't really matter much, just something to consider


The admin restarts section of the game rules specifies "Any of the starting animals trapped or in any way inaccessible, this includes the 8 sheep, 2 boars and 4 deer." This description seems inconsistent with the changes to the map, which read "Deer has been replaced with zebras and always spawn in patches of three."

No - my wording was too specific. Players are not allowed to use any streaming service to stream their point of view without paying the fee. We aren't able to monitor the Chinese streaming services, so those are allowed by default.
Removing the LOS of the birds is an interesting idea, and I'll definitely consider it.
The handbook will soon be updated with the proper amount of deer/zebras.

The recordings can be streamed by anyone once they have been released.

I see that cliffs are removed for KoTD_arabia, is this really needed?

IMO it is something that adds randomness to maps. Randomness is already reduced by removing ponds (which is a good change btw), I'm just worried that streamlining maps to be more competitive will eventually take its toll. Arabia map generations might have too little variation.

Most of the times cliffs helped in walling hence its good that those are removed.

Not really a question, but I find the wording on the civ rules a bit complicated - given how civ picking has been an issue lately I think it could make sense to re-word that a little

Even that only $1 stream price is good, This $1 make them know who is the boss, it's not god give them the right to stream, it is given by admin.

Yeah, after the $9k to the BO37 this lead to a $9k donation to each NAC 2 and KOTD 2.

Rumors of prizepool increased to $15k for KOTD 2 with Membs amount put up changing to $1k and fee to cast removed. But I went to bed last night and wasn't up at that time, so have no clue if this is true or not, just what is circulating discord this morning.

We're not trying to assert dominance by making streamers and players pay to stream. While it might seem unfair at first glance, denying the Chinese players of streaming on their platform, which is completely isolated from Twitch/YouTube, would not benefit the tournament, nor would it benefit the community in any way.

I think first three rounds have identical civ rules, but wording for second and third is different. Also, it does not say what happens with civilizations picked but not played in first two rounds (I read somewhere I think that they go back to the civ pool, but the handbook is not specific there).

I would probably write something like:

Round 1 Best of 5 – 10 different civilizations played.

1. Players pick five civilizations each.
2. Players may not use any of their civs twice

Round 2 Best of 5 – 10 different civilizations played.

1. Players pick five of their remaining civs each (civs not picked/played by them in round 1, whatever the correct one is)
2. Players may not use any of their civs twice

Round 3: Best of 5 – 10 different civilizations played.

1. Players pick five of their remaining civs each (civs not picked/played by them in rounds 1 and 2, whatever the correct one is)
2. Players may not use any of their civs twice

Man, wouldnt it be completely mind-blowing, next level play if a player used the Bird LOS while doing a Boar steal on purpose?

I would love to see this in a causal/ranked game, but personally I feel that birds are a bit too luck based for competitive tournaments. I've seen some examples where a bird happens to help with a boar lure, but I haven't seen something intentional yet 11. I think it's totally reasonable to want to keep birds the way they are, just personally I think tournaments are better without this tiny bit of luck potentially allowing someone to steal a boar they otherwise couldn't just because a bird was flying nearby.

Broadcasters must show the tournament banner and logo in-between games, during their streams. It must be made clear, during the stream, who is hosting and sponsoring the tournament.

I think it is a case of spending extra resources to monitor obscure chinese websites.
