Okay All, we're gonna make this one go big or go home. Suggestions are open, but at the moment it will be similar format to last tourney. I will also run some small tournaments for lower prize money with various ELO limits, and we'll have DE editions up for grabs in those tournaments.

Best way is probably to follow on twitter though as I'll announce them pretty last minute each time. Mostly a day before. Basically when I have the time I'll run a tournament and winner or top 2 will get a copy of DE as the prize, however you can't win more than once just so everyone gets a fair shake at the prizes.

Ah, nice, that link explains a lot more. I take it this one is an open tournament? If so, as I mentioned previously, there's probably no point me playing as the games won't be competitive. There's no way of seeing who's already registered though, so it's hard to know for definite. It's a very small community, so having public registration lists might encourage signups. What you could do, that a lot of the tourneys here have done, is just have a thread explaining the tournament, where players have to post to say that they've read the rules and have signed up on Battlefy. Would generate its own interest.

The time slots mean that this tournament should work for the Americas and Europe, so you should definitely have more than two signups. I joined the discord, but don't have permission to do or see anything it seems. Just followed on Twitch, hadn't come across the stream before. If the tournament is open, then you're really looking for 2k+ elo players, and can just invite all the online ones directly an hour or so before the tourney, exactly as Spring said above. I'm sure there are still plenty completely unaware. It will be slow at first, but hopefully will snowball.

@Helpimupdn is trying different things since the first tournament. Maybe soon he will figure out how the tournaments are running here in aoezone or maybe the players can deal with other ways to play in a tournament.

But the thing is, he are running something for players having fun in the end.

Yes, this idea of having all matches finished within a set time on one day is a good new idea. Will probably just take some time to get traction. But I reckon the first sub 1700/1800 event will blow up.

Funny you should say that. I think I'll do two tournaments back to back possibly. Just not sure what time NA players get on. Maybe let's try a below 1800 and an above 1800? Thoughts?

I have a feeling 1700 is the inflection point between ok players and good players. In my experience 15xx players beat 16xx more easily than 16xx players beat 17xx. IIRC, A lot of the pleb tournaments hosted by streamers such as Marvino and Moonfaller have had somewhere around 1650 as the rating cap, as weaker players really have no chance against anyone above that.

Now you're speaking my language! I'll go peddle this in the pro discords. You can also join them all like you did with T90's, if you want to push tourneys in future. Will the O1700 have a rating ceiling at 1900 or something? Just to give the 17xxs a chance.

Does that count if you're promoting tournaments for plebs? I didn't think it would have conflicted with the pros interests, and I see cross-promoting on a weekly basis in the various discords. Maybe I could have added 'speak to the pros first and see if they're cool with it', and 'be active in the discords generally', but I didn't want to turn a quick reply into a long and patronising one. And I was referencing how I caught Help finally figuring out how to join T90s discord to ask him about casting, not to self-promote, just to clarify.

Also I encourage all players to come out and play in the bigger tournaments, my opinion is that while winning is not likely there's a lot to be learned playing higher level players. We also do a top vs bottom draw so you either get a really strong match to learn from like a 1900+ player (rec games will show fun build orrders i think) and/or you can play pretty competitive in first round with middles groups all probably between 100 pts of each other.
