Hello, i plan in maybe coming back in the game, Is AoE still fun, the game, the community etc ?


ppl play aoe2 or aoe4 ? voobly is dead for real ? did the game change a lot ? do i still have friends in aoe ?

So many questions ...

Arena is now being played 3 times more than in voobly times, you will have a blast, also the number of arena clowns is way larger now, so at least you are going to enjoy the map and settings you used to play.

The community is not the same as before, there is no interaction now and we have less social features built in game but you can fix it by joining to discord groups.

Few weeks ago i dreamed about Nili hahah, a dream that came from nowhere idk why, we met in germany in a movie theater, and was talking a lot about past etc

I will reinstall the game and steam etc, and try in off, some games see if its cool, soufire thx for your comment, you pointed out interresting thing because if i loved aoe is because the community was so nice everyone could speak like friend with everynoe, talk a lot etc i would log in voobly just to spam msg friends haha

The game is still great, the french community at his best; the community as a whole is a bit lethargic with the two big AO4 events of early 2022 but almost everyone agree it is now a dead game and that 2022 can now start for AO2

So if you want to get involved in the community again that is where you mainly find an talk to people nowadays. For clowning id recommend joining terrors discords. Probabely the french got a discord too. And there is many more.

You can't really only play one map, you can only ban up to three. Some strategies to get your favorite map as often as possible:

• Pick Arena as your "favorite" (left click it). If your opponent doesn't have it banned, then it will pick one of the two favorite maps
• Ban popular maps (especially arabia) and leave unpopular maps open (islands etc). This will maximize your chance of getting your map
• alternatively, leave maps unbanned that you don't mind playing too much (for example maps like hideout, socotra, ... good for clown play)
• it's possible to alt-f4 once a certain map gets picked before the game starts, getting you out of the game without losing rating, but this will result in timeouts from the ranked queue
• for high level play you can check https://aoe2recs.com/dashboard/ to try and match up with other people who are looking for arena
• or you could try queue sniping players who are also going for arena (i.e. queue up at the same time as they)
