As haroo suggested verifying the integrity of games files restores only those mod files that were changed e.g. https://youtu.be/izI0OjphSos?t=388

Isn't that just a different problem completely? Because of aoe2de forcing everyone to install featured event mods every patch?

Solution to it is to go to the Mods menu, find the aoe1de sound mod and tick it off, but dont unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe, the game will force download it again next launch. So just leave it turned off but dont unsubscribe. And restart game to have it take effect.

it might be but before sensei I could disable it and worked. However, after I installed this program, realized that it came back. Sadly nothing works such as disabling, unsubscribing... I have already uninstalled program but same which makes me crazy...

I forgot to address this in the video. Sound mods do not overwrite big chunks of files such as (SFX.bnk) they add .wem files individually in your game installation. All you have to do is locate where the mod folder is installed in (%userprofile%\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\RANDOM NUMBERS\mods\subscribed\Your mod name) then remember the location and names of each file. Now go to your aoe2 installation folder follow the same location structure of \Your mod name\ and remove those files. Done! Check file integrity again just to be sure you didn't delete something important accidently.

If you find all this confusing just tell me the names of the mods and I will tell you exactly what to delete from your game.

I had to go back to my old pc and decided to try your program Greg. But now I cannot click multiplayer in menu... It says "Disabled during server maintenance" but there is no maintenance atm. Others are playing just fine.

All you have to do is download 2.3 and Switch On or Off "Disable Menu Effects" that should repair the problem.
