Hi there. So, some days ago someone posted an interesting idea in the official forums (believe it or not).
Basically, this guy suggested to give all melee units a 0.1 or 0.2 range. This way, they wouldn't stuck when they're all trying to attack.
A priori seems a good idea to me (except that might create an issue with logistics and drusinha). I would like to test it myself, but i'm really short on time. Maybe someone could test ir or pass the idea to the devs?
Of course, it wouldn't solve the whole pathing problem, but it could be a partial/temporary solution.
