So a small idea to nerf the Trush strategy I thought it might help in the situations trush is very strong.
How about we divide the main and second stone into 3 groups. There are 9 tiles of stone, instead of having a group of 5 and 4 tiles, we would have 3 groups of 3 tiles.
We all know how hard is to deal with trush when you dont have you own stone available. You can only hope to be well walled with resources in the back or have a big army advantage. Having 3 groups of stone will minimize the probability of having your 9 tiles to be in the same area, it would also increase the probability of having a safe stone.
Lets continue analyzing how this small change would debilitate trush strategy overall. For the trusher it would mean having to take a 33% smaller stone pile than before, ie, instead of taking 5 piles with 1 mining camp he would take 3 tiles with one mining camp. This would make harder for the trusher to wall their villagers in and it would make inneficient to take the tiles with more than 4 villagers.
When we talk about trush we have to speak about both parties involved. Because the best defense to a trush is to put counter towers. How does this 3 tile group of stone affect the defender. Well similarly as the offender but to stop a trush you don't need as many towers as the aggressor needs. You can stop the aggressor from advancing to one area with a single tower. So overall defender doesn't need as many towers as the offender, thus he can afford having less stone per mining camp and less vills on the stone.
This change would be helpful for maps like arabia and arena. Which have become a trush festival in the past months. Althought this map balance idea would not stop trushes from hapening i think is viable and would debilitate trushes, or better said, it would make it easier to defend against trushes, opening posibilities to do a better job when trying to counter attack.
Would this idea affect the gameplay as we know it (Because this would affect the maps layout a lot)?. I don't know. I think I wouldn't because collecting all the stone in your base usually happens far into the game. The big thing about this change, asides from the impact while trushing would be the possibility to make 2 castles with the normal main stone pile of 5 tiles. With 3 you collect 1050 stone, enough for a castle and some tcs.
The proposed idea is for 1v1 arabia and arena. Of course it would affect TGs, but I dont really see it changing them so much. One main concern about testing changes comes from the lack of posibilities to test the change before its implemented, having 3 groups of stone should be quite easy to implement in a similar way of how the "arina" map was edited.
I would love to hear the thoughts of the community, i know some players are very very conservative about the game. But hey I would rather have small stones piles than seeing trush 75% of the times i watch or play a game.
