Hello Teutonic Light Cavs! I don't think there is any tutorial teaching how to hunt boars using your Town Center, so I decided to do one myself, as it's pretty basic and allows a player to get a few less seconds of idle time, which is always nice in Dark Age. If such tutorial has already been posted, my apologies.
Before anything, it's important to remember that Boars, Deer, Sheep, Zebras, Turkeys, all sort of Food mustn't be killed by Town Centers, unless you'd like to have less Food available. Therefore, the final hit has to be done by Villagers. That said, let's go to the cool stuff.
Boars have 75 HP, receive 3 damage from Villagers and 5 from TCs. Those are the 3 key things to know. So after the Boar is shot twice by a Villager, it has 75 - 3*2 = 69 HP. When it gets back to Town Center, it will receive X * 5 damage per shot- X is the number of Villagers garrisoned inside the TC. In pratical terms, this means:
If you garrison 4 Villagers, you will need 3 TC shots + 1 shot by the 4 Vill garrisoned to kill the Boar. ¹
¹(75- 3 * 2 = 69; 69 - 5 * 4 * 3 = 9; 9 - 3 * 4 = 325 BOAR FOOD to provide you an excellent Dark Age)
If you garrison 3 Villagers, you will need 4 TC shots + 1 shot by the 3 Vill garrisoned to kill the Boar. ²
²(75- 3 * 2 = 69; 69 - 5 * 3 * 4 = 9; 9 - 3 * 3 = 325 BOAR FOOD to provide you an excellent Dark Age)
If you garrison 5 Villagers, you will need 2 TC shots + 2 shots by the 5 Vill garrisoned to kill the Boar. ³
³(75- 3 * 2 = 69; 69 - 5 * 5 * 2 = 19; 19 - 5 * 3 * 2 = 325 BOAR FOOD to provide you an excellent Dark Age)
Note: Be careful if the Boar was attacked by Scouts or Villagers before. If it received more than 2 hits from Scouts or Villagers before, the TC Boar Hunting Technique won't work. Also, it's not very useful with Goths, as Gothic Vills are excellent Boar Hunters. Hope you liked it, see you next time!
