In major e-sports competitions, teams and players from Russia and Belarus are no longer allowed to participate in competitions, following the guidelines of the U.S. government.

So what about AoE?_?

After watching reaction of Russians (not talking about couple thousands protester, just check Russian TikTok) to war, I support it and I don't find it dumb.

I lived 25 years in a Middle East country and only last years I am living in Europe, my home country itself hosting 4M registered + 2M unregistered refugees while others making a big fuss of 5K on Belarussian border. During my lifetime I saw war on all of our non-European neighbors, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran, Syria. I don't have that pink glasses like other Europeans, things work differently in my geographic area and I don't expect you guys to understand. If it requires entirely isolating Russia like North Korea, so be it. I am not against strong measures. Because weak reactions seen as vulnerability in our part of world, 2014 Crimea as example.

And I really don't feel sorry for "poor" Russians without AOE after I saw exploding cluster bombs in Kharkiv.

We have a saying: Besides the dry leaves, the wet also burns. And according to surveys, it is %80 dry leaves.

Basically a Ukranian cannot participate because of Russian invasion impact, while Russians still can.

Well as far as I know there is no central authority for AoE tournaments besides Nili, and I don't think there is a government mandate on banning athletes. It has been decided sport by sport with some sports banning and some not.

I just don't understand how "dealing with ukraine people" is really related to that question. Obviously you aren't suggesting they should be banned so what are you asking?

This shouldn't really be the case, what's the point in boycotting players from Russia?

I wonder when there would be an international outcry for boycotting USA, who has been responsible for several times more wars and deaths than Russia (not saying they should be boycotted, but by standards of few here they should).

The idea of punishing Russian citizens as a result of their government's conduct is so absurd. They are living under a corrupt and suppressive autocratic regime. The media is unfiltered propaganda to the one true leader, whereas western media is veiled propaganda to a select few holding groups. The point is, they are victims.

Would you make a similar cry to ban American players for their government's recent atrocities in Yemen? What about Chinese players because of the Uyghur genocide that is still ongoing? Ah, no, I guess these are not as pressing matters, since they're just killing brown people. People love to invoke comparisons to WW2 for this conflict. It's not due to magnitude, or geographic proximity. It's because it's the first time white people have been killing white people since.
