The key word here is "we". Something that you may have forgotten or been unaware of is thatAll the sensible people here, we are still on the same schedule we always were. We have until the end of the week to make a decision.
Almost certainly not, but again "we" is the key word (not to be confused with oui); I can't speak for everyone but I myself will not be attending and others I've spoken to probably won't.Wait is this meetup still happening ? What happened to government advising social distancing to slow the spread of the virus and flatten the curve ?
Again, it isn't for theHand to decide, but (hopefully I'm not putting words into his mouth here) it's both of our views that it shouldn't go ahead given the new expert advice on the matter. He's been pretty consistent in saying he'll follow whatever expert advice is given at the time, hence why he posted an update when the situation changed.Well this should've been cancelled immediately following our government's clear advice yesterday (if not before) - this is now a clear cut case of whether or not to follow or ignore that advice. The fact that it hasn't been - for all his talk of following official advice - suggests that he was just being selfish and stubborn all along. Saying they have until the end of the week to make a decision is just moving goalposts.
THE MEETUP IS NOT HAPPENING
THE MEETUP IS NOT HAPPENING
THE MEETUP IS NOT HAPPENING
(97.1% certainty...)
Here again it's important to remember that theHand isn't in a position to make unilateral decisions on behalf of other people, the "official" decision necessarily can't happen until after everyone has discussed it, hence the uncertainty.Maybe it would be nice to mention it anywhere in the main post that the meetup is not happening ?
I read your comments from the past few days and you were saying you were holding off the decision, maybe you should have made it more clear that it was cancelled.
Not gonna say the same thing for a 78th time in this post, u get the ideaOh I checked all your posts - you made plenty since the press conference, but none confirming the cancellation of the meetup. But good call all the same.
"If you simply said from the start that you took people's concerns seriously, acknowledged that it might not go ahead, but that you would delay the final decision until closer to the time, then this nonsense would all be avoided."Oh I checked all your posts - you made plenty since the press conference, but none confirming the cancellation of the meetup. Mainly this has been an attitude problem. If you simply said from the start that you took people's concerns seriously, acknowledged that it might not go ahead, but that you would delay the final decision until closer to the time, then this nonsense would all be avoided. Instead your dismissive and insulting responses to legitimate concerns had plenty of people worried even if the above had been your intention all along.
Hope this clears up some of the confusion for y'all. As has also been repeatedly stated, we will be making a call nearer the time. It's not like we can't cancel on the morning of the event if we want to.
Perhaps you should hold off on the actual hugs, but I and others would certainly appreciate a virtual hug.I’m ill with flu like symptoms. Maybe I should try to go to the meet up and give them all a great big hug
Ego is a dangerous thing.Ego is a dangerous thing.
How difficult is it to say that: "I was wrong. This thing is getting out of hand and we should avoid meet-ups."
Literally, everyone underestimated it earlier, so you wouldn't be the only person who has been wrong.
We need to have the humility to accept when we're wrong. And we have all been there, sometime or other.
None of us have any harsh feelings against you, and this is not just about the game.
This is to confirm that the HC3 Beirut meetup is confirmed and happening.

I think under this circumstances it would reflect the intention a bit better.
I just call that TuesdayMbL quitting aM is Drama.
There really isn't. They're pretty synonymous. There's a difference between drama and toxicity.
MbL quitting aM is Drama.
This thread wasn't. This was just sad.
Im still baffled that people are so butt-hurt about UK leaving the EU that they bring it up on every occasion possible.
Pipe down, country with less population than London...i am so happy they finally left that i have to remind myself every day
only thing i am sad is that we do any aggreements with them. but yeah what do you expect from politicians nowadays
Pipe down, country with less population than London..
Great atmosphere, good food, good beer, forty two infected, amazing chats with friendly folk, seven died, amazing games, good fun all roundSo, how was the meetup?
I especially found it amazing how crowded the tube was!So, how was the meetup?
Trollolo, I was countering the argument that it was good riddance to the UK. Dubious statement at best if it contributes 5x more than your country, and is the third largest contributor overall. Yes, 7% per capita more is wonderful, but it's chump change when you only contribute 2% of the overall budget...Austria paid more per capita, ~ 7% more.
