I am pleasantly surprised egctv is taking time to entertain the low iq trolls here. I guess he is assuming they are reasonable folk. My respects and condolences to egctv for having to engage on this forum
and people wonder why streamers don't care for aoezoneMy question is why are you answering questions here? I don't mean this in a critical way, far be it for me to tell people how to spend their time. But it seems like the majority of the commentariat here is, rightly or wrongly, reflexively antagonistic of your tournament. Why bother correcting people making random speculations about how much you contributed to the tournament etc.? I feel like if I were running your tourney reading these threads would burn me out more than anything.

Nope N4C group stage had 15K at one point when Viper was playing. You can cross check with Nili himself may be. Like I quoted above, you are being compared to N4C only because it was the most recent number we have. Once you have GL2 you'll be compared against GL1.
AoE3. He joined gaming and AoE during pandemic after friend said AoE3 is the game to play.source: N4C interviewAny other sporting events or e-sport events you've hosted before AoE4?
thing that never happened and nili himself was disapointed with viewers numbers.I look on here every few weeks to see what's up, immediately get triggered, respond, get more triggered, vow to never respond again, then three weeks later forget why I stopped looking on AOEZone. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?
Again, I really don't think which event got 6 more viewers during a Viper match is what matters! I'm sure Nili is rooting for us to get 20k, just like I was was rooting for him.

you'd think streamers are saying this place is more evil than the third reich if we took your words at face valueYou'd think everyone's virgin eyes would bleed just from reading the forum if you took some streamers words at face value.

man you must really hate these streamers to keep making these illogcially long winded, verbose posts that few people (and especially the streamers they are aimed at) bother to fully read 11It has been called a "cesspool," "filled with the worst kinds of people," by at least one prominent aoe2 streamer this past week.
Even those who agree with their perspective are ironically broad-bushed and painted in other words a degenerate at worst or someone wasting their time whose contributions do not matter at best. Merely for participating in a community at a place one feels most comfortable and/or choose to do so. I don't dare speak for others but I personally find that a bit unjust.
One doesn't need to invoke Godwin, there are plenty of colorful examples readily available of this intentionally/needlessly incendiary commentary. It isn't controversial to suggest that the narrative is more fiction than reality. These descriptions are of course exaggerations of the truth even in their own minds, but it's quite obvious based on numerous posters here that unfortunately some are swayed by colorful blurbs and celebrity worship.
Unfortunately, not everyone has an equal bully pulpit -- which seems to be part of the point of the exercise on their part (to keep it that way.)
I dont think one can really call it hate. He just aint no SIMP.man you must really hate these streamers to keep making these illogcially long winded, verbose posts that few people (and especially the streamers they are aimed at) bother to fully read 11

I wouldn’t say this place is filled with the worst kinds of people, but the forums seem to be at their all-time worst mostly speaking from the past year (before was much better imo). I thought 2006-2007 was bad on aocgroup honestly, but the community in general thinking about it, has literally over a decade of history of driving away pros and sadly never learning from it. I’ll always side with pro streamers or anyone known in the community on that issue from what I have seen. Also it is probably not “this community” being the problem but rather the internet.
Just from recalling being on forums in the early 2000s (from casual forums to an ivy-league type one as well), the internet is more of a young person’s place. Always has been and likely always will. People don’t seem to care about being better for whatever reason. Not a place for those who become more mature and hope other people will ‘catch on’.
neatOn the contrary, I enjoy writing, debate, and age of empires 2. Almost as I enjoy articulating a point and allowing those without one to resort to mockery and insisting they never truly intended to make theirs.
Being able to poignantly understand and describe an idea is not as easy as tossing an insult, and I would agree as of late seems sparse round' these parts.
In some context I suppose it is, I can’t completely disagree with you there. At the same time, I don’t think it is right to completely cancel someone. That’s because everyone has some skeleton in their closet, and no one would look even remotely decent at first glance should it pop out. Things get taken too far imo because someone messed up a bit (excluding an actual serious one). Sometimes all sides of the story aren’t even heard or considered either before forming a conclusion (has happened in past year with a certain thread). In some context is that not a good thing?
I much prefer the current environment where pro's actively fear saying racist and childish things for threat of deserved loss of face. Would it be incorrect to state this has been one of many of the major complaints towards AOEZone made of late? This just happens to be one of the few outlets it is less censorable and thus gets more attention because critiques can't be downvoted into oblivion. I'm not talking about a forty-page thread discussing the merits and demerits of Nili's underwear or AOE4. More so the detailed narratives discussing whether a pro player should be able to hurl a racial insult and whether one can truly "grow up," from such a thing a mere year or two later, (and/or if repeated behavior warrants scrutiny.)
I can't understand how one can excuse such behavior yet time and time again we see threads where repeat behavior is merely treated as one-off instances of abhorrence that should be forgiven because the subject has high APM. This poor, poor pro player merely suffers from the blessing and curse of popularity and so we must forgive and move on. I find this criticism that is unpopular among streamers and pros to serve the community well, and frankly -- would rather have less skillful pro's if it meant a better community.
These are very essential parts of a community that do well to serve as a baseline in terms of acceptable behavior. Pro is short for "Professional," after all.
I simply see criticism as an essential component of the community (pro's and player's alike,) a tool, the lack thereof a carrot, and when necessary a stick when someone acts poorly. I understand why someone financially impacted might prefer that not exist, but I don't have much sympathy.
Plenty of decent arguments of what veracity is acceptable -- but there has been some pretty crazy **** said/done by AOE2 pro players even within the last three years. I don't mind their feelings getting hurt or feeling they're not welcome if they're incapable of not being racist or fear having their viewership decline because they took a paid advertisement for bitconnect.
That's just how he writes. He needs to tone it down a little bit I agree. What he says isn't wrong though.man you must really hate these streamers to keep making these illogcially long winded, verbose posts that few people (and especially the streamers they are aimed at) bother to fully read 11
In which world do you live if you believe people have no conflict with ertug? The guy is literally persona non grata everywhere, and that includes aoezone. I know the forum has fallen pretty low but still. You may find this unbelievable but people here and in aoeforums dislike more Deathcounter and hate him badly, but they have no conflict with ertug, that pretty much says everything.
To reinforce the point, a reminder of Ertug's latest achievements:In which world do you live if you believe people have no conflict with ertug? The guy is literally persona non grata everywhere, and that includes aoezone. I know the forum has fallen pretty low but still.

I definitely feel there's truth to what he says and have said so multiple times, but that he also tends to only want to acknowledge things from his view and not much from the streamers POV. very imbalanced and narrow-minded for someone who toots their own horn as much as he does 11That's just how he writes. You are right but it is also fair to acknowledge he's hardly alone in this. I think part of the reason he does not want to cover the streamers point of view is that they are the popular one and tend to have no shortage of people advocating for them.I definitely feel there's truth to what he says and have said so multiple times, but that he also tends to only want to acknowledge things from his view and not much from the streamers POV. very imbalanced and narrow-minded for someone who toots their own horn as much as he does 11
