Well, here are my 2 cents as a Turkish.

Lately it is quite common in Turkey that people left their job and started to become youtubers, influencers, twitchers etc. There are plenty of factors contributing into this:

1- Extreme loss of value in Turkish Lira
2- CPI around %150, officially %70, it is common knowledge in Turkey that official numbers are forged
3- Extreme work hours, no work-life balance at all
4- Success stories of tubers, influencers
5- Ability to earn money without being abused to mobbing
6- Lack of jobs and increasing household costs with extra 8M refugees from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan in job market

Most of the people fail and return back to their job or even worse ones to survive, but it is a quite common theme for people in age group 20-35.

I had Daniel, Rise or Hallis in mind when writing this as those are players of similar or younger age, arguably far better than Alperen is right now and also preferring open maps. Comparing a clown skill and open map player skill is always tricky and there's no point to bring this topic here.

As you see you can see the civs that i pick most of the time on this pic. the point for me here to find a sponsor but if you will cry about this, you can write down on your daily instead of aoezone.
Out of 2200 games only 90 of them is mongol which is very low number. thats doesnt mean i allways play with mongols

And i will leave another picture here from my first account and you can see mongol is not even listed on top civs that i played.

Did u see this ? This is my account. Alperen did go out of game. And he will back to game and he want to play from my account, cause my account is low. When new DLC coming, I playing 2 3 dravid games, and after my account name return (aka ALperen). Nobody use this account now.

Who cares if it's not lucrative, I don't think they asked whether it was -- just for sponsors.

Being a 21 year old student myself I can empathize and relate with your situation. It's an incredibly tough decision to make, whether or not to drop out from college and go Full-time streaming, especially when your passion lies in gaming and E-sports. Here's my 2 cents:

Controversial take, but college is considered by many in the world, as a financial scam. However, I believe there's two sides of the coin, two sides to the story. Some believe Universities have monetized this scheme - turned it into a money-making business, while some believe that Getting a Degree is essential in order to have a career - something you "have" to do in order to get a job and become financially independent.

As someone who shares the same love and passion for the game, I can tell you that that thought has definitely crossed my mind as well, but there's a reason why people pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to get an education - its a Safety Net. Whether we like it or not, there's a reason why there are some things in life that we have to accept or go through, like school or marriage or parenthood. True, it's not for everyone, but it is a "safe and normalized way to get through life successfully and happily".

At the moment it might feel like you are not enjoying studying, going to classes, forcing yourself to do something you don't enjoy. But believe me, giving up education completely to pursue a career in age of empires is very risky, especially when you are not a Native English speaker and are not the very very best at the game (top top player to be competing in tournaments and winning money).

I don't want to tell you to give up your passion completely and stop streaming and playing age, but I am asking you to take a closer look in the mirror, look deeply and decide what's the safest and best move here for you.

Age of Empires is not going anywhere. There are thousands of people who play this game as a hobby. They have a secure job for a consistent income, and play Aoe as a pastime or to "blow off some steam"

Now if you are adamant in your life decision and career choices and still choose to pursue a professional career in streaming, I wish you the best of luck, man! A few tips I have gotten/observed from people in this field are as follows:

1) Broaden your customer base, this means try to increase and grow your channel, reach out to as many people as possible.
2) Take English classes to learn and speak English - yes I know sounds unnecessary but best example I can give is T90Official, he took classes for public speaking or something despite being a native english speaker, and it has done wonders for his channel - there's a reason why he's the "best"/"biggest" caster in this community.
3) Learn from other people with similar paths. Take Hera for example - the tremendous growth in his channel has been mostly due to him being one of the best players in the game, but he has worked really hard, put in endless hours, made mistakes, learnt from them, even switched games (That LoL stunt was pretty good too tbh), and found his way.

Note that while this may be true in the US - and probably other countries too -, in many countries higher educations is essentially free or very cheap.

Yeah I wasn't surprised seeing US flag next to that comment, considering while that may the case there, it absolutely isn't in most other places 11, the difficulty isn't the money to study, it is actually getting accepted into studies, and once you do, it is way better to finish

The post was made for one reason: looking for a sponsor; then it became a picking civ essay.
If i can give you a personal opinion or suggestion, i would not leave university. As i said already, i dont feel like im anything special or skilled at the game, i just had a very good approach at learning it. i was able to accomplish that while still playing football for money and having a social live (not a crazy one with parties everyday, which i dont like, but a decent one). Right now i dont play 15 games a day as i used to do in school's last years, but i still manage to do everything combined. Uni + football + Aoe streaming/coaching/playing/tournaments.
Im not a top player, maybe im not even a decent one, i was top 80 in my highest peak, but it only brought me top 48 in Kotd4, which means 150€. In Italy i would need at least 10 times those money to do this for living. i would dream that as well, but with this current aoe2 state, players who are behind the pros are in a limbo currently.
Said that, im not even 1% of carbo, what a sick football player he was in Catania!
