WTF was that Saracen strategy on IslandsI started doing it everygame right before the main event, just to screw predictions. Noobs.
Lovely tournament. Let's hope there is another one coming soon.

It worked well for Nili, so question is answered. Nili should play, all others can sit 11And how has this worked out for them![]()
Ivaylo could have been Barles and I still would say that was unfair. Hera played well and congratulations to him for winning, but who knows if Viper would have won had they played an equal amount of home maps instead of playing 3 of Hera's. It was by far the closest set in the tournament. And for hera he won and deserves to enjoy his clear victory, viper's fans will cry about the maps, but viper lost those games by taking bad decisions, there is no excuse for that.
There is an excuse though, picking civs for your home maps which you don't end up playing. At the end jordan is the biggest surprise and kind of makes sense for that island game going for galleons, cause probably not knowing the strength of the caravels, good for him for reaching a final after +7 years.

Jordan has been viewing T90 stream for 1hr straight now so 100% confirmed he didnt make the finals
Jordan felt super strong against yo and super weak in the finals. IDK if he was sleepy or something, but I was really surprised about his performance in the final (considering how clearly and consistently he beat MBL, ACCM and Yo). I think he's real level is the one he showed in the whole tournamentI still don't understand how Yo got outplayed so badly by Joadn.
I think he performed a bit worse in the finals because it was late, but I also think Viper, Liereyy and TaToH were all potentially better/as good as Jordan. The bottom of the bracket was a lot more stacked.Jordan felt super strong against yo and super weak in the finals. I'll make a comprehensive guess tomorrow after the rest of the sets, but my preliminary read is that Admiral Yi is Jordan and he has a really solid shot at the finals, which is utterly wild. Unfortunately, I've fallen far behind at work and am GM'ing a bunch of Pathfinder this weekend, so I won't have time to comb through recs and try-hard the prediction game like I wanted to. Oh well.
the aoe2.net activity were pretty spot on, those who played during the tournament were all eliminated. but yes the chat thing is not a good indicator, iutshould have been jordan on stream just muting it while playing, i do that too.I love that the people speculating based on the AoE2.net W/L and who is present in chat at X time probably got more things wrong than me. Check stream, check replays, and as someone said above, you'll see more Jordan in game than in your chat logs.
You get a Like.Guys i got 16/16 do i get a reward? 11111111 i almost messed up dogao and nicov :D
Yo made some mistakes and looked nervous when things went wrong too... He probably a bit underestimated jordan before the gameI don't think Jordan played much worse in the finals than in the semis. I don't want to take anything away from Jordan but he beating Yo makes sense if you consider that Yo is often sloppy and frequently falls behind at the start of the games. I also think Jordan beating Yo in that first, long game affected the mentality of both players. Also, Tatoh seemed really strong and I believe if he was on the other side of the bracket he may very well have been in the finals. Obviously Viper probably would have won the tourney if he had gotten past Hera.
I guess I get to claim credit for calling Hera, Yo and ACCM quite fast.
When was the semi finals played ? Saturday night until pretty late it seems according to T90. It didn't help Theviper who like to sleep early while it was afternoon for Hera. This + the map choices, It certainly helped hera. Maybe one of the reasons YO lost Jordan was the hours when he played. Tournament can be very unfair when it comes to this.At the end jordan is the biggest surprise and kind of makes sense for that island game going for galleons, cause probably not knowing the strength of the caravels, good for him for reaching a final after +7 years.
