Hello,
As most people know, There are several grid terrains are already present.
But they are either embedded to voobly or steam workshop.
So I have made some grid terrains for (also) offline use.
But, what makes this interesting is, disabling the Blending feature.
Applying this provides us perfect distinguishable square tiles so we can know where tiles change perfectly.
Square tiles and shadows:
This works with voobly without conflicting!

simply first backup 3 files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\Data
blendomatic.dat
BlkEdge.Dat
TileEdge.Dat
and replace with the link i gave you.
By the way this is not a hack, it is a visual thing. It doesn't let you see what others can't.

1) Open your AoE2 data folder. It's default location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\Data
2) I have included original files but still, backup your empires2_x1_p1.dat and terrain.drs
3) Now, whatever mod you want, get the related terrain.drs and replace it with old one in data folder.
4) Best part, for No-Blend feature, get the empires2_x1_p1.dat from "No Blend Feature" folder and replace with one in data folder.
This mod totally doesn't affect gameplay and is completely visual. So your opponents doesn't need to install anything.
But voobly doesn't let you change empires2_x1_p1.dat file yet. But the one voobly uses is empires2_x1_v1.dat so it won't affect voobly anyway
Probably mod works for HD aswell since it's the almost same game.
