Congrats!

I had the feeling, Jidba didn't have his best day, didn't appear to be completely focused in a couple of situations. But then again, you need to be fast and aggressive to apply the pressure which leads to such micro mistakes etc. So kudos to Kellan for that awesome perfomance. Well deserved for all the effort you put in during the last years, playing so much while also being willing to share your knowledge with others and help them improve.

Congrats to the Kellan, the new owner of the DM crown. A very well deserved victory !!

Feedback/critisicm for the next DM Tourney :

I think, the advantage for winner bracket champion was overlooked by the tournament management team, including myself as the tournament advisor and the rest of the community. With all due respect to Kellan and his victory, Jidba was not able to use any kind of advantage for being the winner brackets champion whatsoever. Everybody else, was entitled to have a bad day and lose one series except for Jidba. He had a win as clear if not more than this one vs Kellan in the winner brackets finals. It felt kinda unfair for him to lose the series without using any kind of advantage. Next time, a 2x BO7 format similar to MoA might be better suited.

You are the one who deserved it more than anyone! You tried so hard for it!

I knew that after our games in winner brackets finals u got fired up and was gonna train hard for it so i was expecting a hard series! Sadly i had 1 week vacation that shut me down and made me slower at start and mentally weaker for hard and long games! You were well prepared for any civ map having a strategy in mind mostly focusing on mid late game making u feel comfortable with strong eco and market sells that made it even harder for me!
This tournament was so strange for me! I catch myself a lot of times not playing as strong as i could/should! I kinda miss my old fearless hungry playstyle but as we get older life sets priorities.
Even tho i believe that when i bring my Agame into the table i ll propably win, in this tournament kellan totally deserve it more than me.
Also i would like to give a lot of credit to orkut who have improved so much the last year and i do believe he could win this tournament if he had better days vs me or kellan

there is something I do not understand, jidba won in the final of the winner bracket, so if I win now Kellan 1 set, should not play another decisive? Just as it was at the end of the Master of Arena, between Lojza and viper? :?

Great Tournament. Really appreciate the sponsors, donors, players and contributors to the tournament!! Kellan did really amazing in these games and was 100% prepared! His hard worked has definitely paid off!!

What Orkut stated about the grand final rules I also agree with.. Based on a best of 11 and the winner bracket winners advantage being that they may choose more homemap/home civs.. but having it possible to lose before they can be chosen kinda takes away that advantage. The other thing is that perhaps if the loser bracket winner wins... that they must play a second BO11! (these are not to say kellan wouldnt still win, or whatever... but just an observation to keep everything as fair as possible)

Agree with what Chris has stated about Orkut as well! He has become such a great player and one of my favorite things about this tournament is how many players stepped up to the plate and became stronger than they ever were before! This was really the height of skill in the DM community. All the practice games were extremely fun and tournament matches were equally challenging and fun as well. I am a bit disappointed with myself with my performance vs Orkut but after losing to Kellan it seems i lost my motivation... however, Orkut definitely worked harder than me and deserved the win (I would have rather seen a 3-4 or something though lol)

Congrats again to Kellan.. You talked a big game and you backed it up.. defeating all 3 of the other top 4 seeds on your way to victory! amazing job.

Congrats Kellan! I remember talking to you before the tournament & you told me how much it would mean to knock Jidba off the top. Then last night after you won telling VO stream about how you used to watch recs of Jidba growing up, admired him etc, all of that leading to this win is a pretty incredible story. Really made me happy to see it happen for you. Well gamed guys.

Agree with Orkut about the problems with the Grand Final format.

I think the RM tournament model of giving everyone the benefit of double elimination makes a lot more sense. Or if you're really committed to this type of format you need to make sure the winner's bracket champion gets the benefit of his two HMs before the series could potentially end. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
