Welcome, Edie. You have done some interviews before, but it was FeAge’s wish to have you as my next guest. As with him, this will be a detailed interview which will tell your fans more about you than just about the game.
Some people see you as a one-time Master of Arena, the best of the “Arena players” or as the one kissed by hundreds of girls.
But there’s much more to that. Of course your photos and stories of girls have great entertainment value for AoEZone, but what we value a lot – and I think I can speak for a great part of the community – is that you live with the AoE community. You come from France to go to a German LAN, visit dogao on Malta with Hani and iViktorius and even went to China, just because of AoE, which is unheard of when not being funded like final participants are.
And this at a young age.
1. How old are you?
I’m 21.
2. Since when do you play Age of Empires 2, have you played Age of Empires 1/3?
I played AoE2 offline with my brother when I was young and then discovered it again on Gameranger in 2009-2010.
2a) In which clans have you been since then?
I will just name the most important and serious ones, DyT, WOTC, AOKI, wW, [bob], poZ, zZ and now Heresy.

Did the sponsor reach out to you and do you know why he chose your team?
Any information on what the sponsorship means? Obviously money or equipment. But what will be paid for?
Yeah, we have one good mutual friend who was an intermediary at start. Our team was corresponding the most on what he was looking for, we were able to discuss team goals and the many ways in which the sponsor could help.
2b) How would you describe your playstyle and how much has it changed since you became an experienced player?
1 tc aggressive, all in one, but with time I had to improve macro and add economy.
3. Which time (year, tournament etc.) do you consider your peak?
It’s a pretty hard question, as I find year after year I learn new stuff and discover new stuff, so I improve and know more things year after year, but compared to others players my progress sucks, because I don't play as much, as I used in past. Few years ago I was scared just of TheViper, and knew only few could beat me on Arena, now there are so many more people that can beat me, although I learned many things.
4. Why did you choose the AoE nickname „Edie“?
I stole it from my brother to be honest, Edie is from Edie Britt in “Desperate Housewives”, he liked the character and picked it as a nick name in an online game like 10- 12 years ago, in which he got very good and “famous”. I was also playing on his account so I was also recognizing myself as Edie, and when I started AoC I had a few nicknames for few months then decided to be called Edie as my brother and me were in the other game.

5a) How frequently and at which times do you stream?
I seriously don’t know, sometimes I feel streaming sometimes not, and lately I haven’t been streaming much maybe will start again in September.
5b) What is special about your stream, why should it be watched?
Idk man, ask my few viewers why they watch my stream 11 they could give better answer than me.
I watched your stream a few times. Although it’s already some years ago. I think the thing I could say is, if you are looking at 2k+ players, when you want to watch Arena, and see Terror or you online, that’s what they can expect 90 % of the time. So for players who want to watch or improve on Arena, your stream, if it would be regularly, would be one of the first choices.
6. Which city do you come from/live in? What do you like/dislike about it and where would you like to move to?
I’m born in Tourcoing and still live in Tourcoing, which is in the North of France at the border to Belgium, 5 minutes walking and I’m in Belgium 11. I always say I’m from Lille because it’s a bigger city and more people know it, Lille is like 10-15 mins from my city, and my city is part of the Lille metropolitan area.
I love where I live because I built my life here, my friends, my family everything is here, I do know a lot of people here, like really a lot (North of France, not just Tourcoing), so I have a lot of contact and friends for everything. So yeah I like here because of all my friends and family and all the good memories. Also I loves the club we have here 11, and I’m close to Belgium, to NL, to Germany… It’s cool.
Bad I would say, the weather, not really sunny, often raining, not often warm, and the beaches we got (like 1h30 driving aren’t too beautiful, the Belgian ones are already better but still not as good as the Mediterranean one)
I love to travel, to see different people, different countries and ways of life, I wouldn’t mind living somewhere else, If i have a wife with me, just not leaving my actual life alone 11, I hope to move somewhere with more sun.
I looked up Tourcoing, because I never heard of it before. I knew Lille. Almost 100k population. I like cities of that size too. They usually have everything you need for life. If your family always stays and you find work there, then it’s good. But many people have no choice to stay or move or rather want to see more of the world.
At 21, you’re still young and the chances are high that things change. I grew up in a 28k city (most of the time). I went left studies, but so did most of my friends. Family moved because of work...
7. Favourite things:
a) What is your favourite food?
Pasta.
I’m eating bad tbh, restaurant, kebab, McDonald’s etc, every week if not every day.
Which foods from your home country/region and family background would you recommend?
Man, I’m 1200+ on food, but I would recommend a good couscous (Algerian), we are also Algerian. So yeah, a real couscous or a tajine. That’s traditional, but would recommend good pasta that’s all 11.
If you want – I think it’s easier to get 1200 to 2k at food than at AoE.
What can you cook well yourself and how often do you do it?
Sandwich. Not often. I don’t cook anything, I rather go to a restaurant.
Is it because of time limits or do your friends all do it too? I mostly never did it like this, because in Denmark and Germany it’s much cheaper to cook yourself than going to restaurants. So I got used to cooking myself every day. While in China it was cheap to go to restaurants. So it always depends on the situation. Maybe you need to get a girlfriend who eats healthy.
I am really too lazy to cook, even more to learn to cook, and I’m working like 30-45 mins from my home so in mid day I don’t have time to go back home to cook and eat and go back to work so every day at mid day I eat outside at some different places closer to my work. And in the evening sometimes I eat home sometimes I eat with my friends, who also enjoy eating outside and allow us to see each other and have a good social time.
b) What is your favourite colour? (Does not need to be one of the 8 AoE II colours)
I don’t think I really have one, in AoC I love red.
c) What is your favourite animal?
Cats, or felines in general.
d) What/where is your favourite place on Earth?
I haven’t explored the Earth enough yet to know what’s my favorite place on it :0

I like that one too, but I think I only twice. Actually I got interested first, because the album Jay-Z did to it and I loved the “Blue Magic” song on it.

Football, PSG, then I also like Real Madrid and Juventus but first is PSG. I’m watching Juventus more closely now that Ronaldo joined them 111.
h) What are your favourite traits on a woman?
I think you mean physically right?
I would say, first her face (good face, smile, eyes) then breasts then butt, but if she has a good body but bad face, no ty. Btw, unlike ZeroEmpires, I’m not fan of red head. (Blonde brunette, etc., I like all).
i) When do you think you will marry and how many children would you like to have?
It’s an excellent question, every day I wonder this. Maybe in two years, maybe in 5 maybe in 10. I feel I started to have fun earlier than most so at some point I will feel the need to stabilize and probably marry, np if I’m only 23 or 25, if I found the right person and have the money to assume financially.
Yes, I agree. Before doing the interview, I knew you were some years younger than me, but forgot it’s 6. I felt like you had been posting pictures of women on AoCZone since forever.
8. What time do you usually go to sleep? What do you like doing before sleeping?
It depends, between 23:00 to 2 am most of the time. I check AoEZone and Discord for new messages.
9. Which countries have you visited?
Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK, Algeria, Morroco, Malta and China.
Which place had the most beautiful women?
France
And where would you like to go to? Why?
I would love to go America in 2019, I want go to Mexico too (Cancun for example), and also Thailand, well every year I want to see a different country I hope.
Any reason for those? For me Mexico would be interesting because of the Praecolumbian indigenous remains, especially the Aztec buildings. Also, it’s probably to a degree similar to Brazil, where the people and cuisine were very welcoming.
To discover, I always wanted go to America, see in reality how it’s on the movies 11, might as well catch AoC friends there, but would need at least a good month to see different cities.
And Mexico, because I’m interested in the environment, weather, food, all look very beautiful in some of the places there.
Many of us know you went to several AoE events around the world, to China (NC17), Hamburg (NAC18), Belgium and the German LAN. How do you manage doing that – both financially and temporally? I mean, are those like vacation for you, and your family, friends, partners are totally fine with it? If I would say, I want to travel alone to China for a gaming event and spend >1000 € on that, not everyone close to me would say that is a good idea.
It's like vacation for me, I mean when u spend time online with people you like, and can finally meet them in real life, it’s even better, so to me it made sense to go China, and others LAN/meet-up as well. It’s cool to have moments with people u spend time or chat online. We have a solid community.
10. What are your hobbies beside AoE?
I don’t do any sports, clubbing/shisha on the weekend. Eating outside.
11. Who would you like to meet once, who you have not met? One AoE player and one other person.
VM, I know him for like almost 10 years and still never met him despite we are French.
Does he also want to meet you or did you never talk about it?
Yeah, we want to meet, he lives in the South of France and me north so it’s far, and with work constraints it’s hard. But we hopefully will if there is some big french LAN or if I go to the South of France. (It’s most likely me that has more opportunity to travel).
12. Do you have an AoE idol?
Idol is a big word, but I’m a fan of a lot of persons not just one. Some players make magic, watching them sometimes is magic.
Viper obviously is one of them.
13. What is your favourite civilisation, map and unit?
Mayans, Arena, Plumed Archer/Monk.
13b) If Arabia did not exist, which map do you think everyone would be playing like people play Arabia?
Idk.
14. Who is your favourite and least favourite 1v1 opponent?
Nowadays I don’t like playing so I don’t really have favorite opponents. I’m not playing much, but I used to love playing like 10 games in a row against slam in like 2014, he was my favorite opponent. I was always hoping he would be in mood to play Arena. Least, Idk, nowadays I would say Stefan, just because his style is very boring.
15. Who is your favourite team mate?

I don’t understand the question (the second one)
But for bedroom question, I did two years of internship sharing a bedroom with 3 guys I didn’t know, so I wouldn’t mind sharing a bedroom 1 year with an AoC friend, a bed it depends 11.
16. In the new expansions, what is your favourite new civilisation and unit?
Burmese and their UU (Arambai).
17. ECL: The tournament just started
a) Predict a placement
My team: Between 8th to 6th hopefully, I hope more like 6th, but we are outsider/underdog.
b) After the qualification stage there are several top players without a team in the tournament, who still could join. Is there any player who you would like to have in your team if you could a) add another player, b) replace one player?
Well, FeAge, St4rk, Sitaux, Project Belgium are all interesting players that I like much in top of that too 11. And to replace no, unless one of us can’t play and is OK to substitute for one event or something which can happen, if not nothing will change in our team as we are already 6/6.
Stark plays in VNA. But I agree with the other players. If FeAge would want to play, I guess he might rather join LoS though.
18. Which 6 players from your country do you think will form the A team, if there will be a Nations Cup next summer? It will probably be on WK, which maps would you like to be included apart from Arabia, Nomad, Islands?
Good question, me, Sitaux, Hani, VM and the two last will depend on who practices and is in shape, if cebdos is around, cebdos is in, clement did improve, so probably cebdos and clement, would be the same team as last year just with clement instead of Eques who stopped AoC.
19. Would you have joined TyRanT if you were invited, when it still was a team?
Sure.
20. Which 4 players would you like to see forming a team? (can includ inactive players)
Ding, dogao, TheMax, Miguel.
21. Which 6 / 8 players would you invite for Nili’s Apartment Cup 2? (Player 7 and 8 need to be excluded if 6 is the limit. Player 1-6 don’t need to be ranked)
Viper, Liereyy, Nicov, Yo, MbL, Vivi, maybe RiuT if in shape or slam, maybe BacT if in top shape as well. I wasn’t happy with how TaToh performed, not even talking about DauT lol, but he should definitely come as a guest.
22. In which tournaments would you participate? Master of Islands 2, Master of the Sea (Islands, Team Islands, Baltic, Water Nomad and more), Master of MegaRandom 2 (1v1 or 2v2?), Master of Full Random, a tournament with just new maps that were not included in AoC?
MoMR, would prefer 2v2 but 1v1 fine as well.
23. Last year’s Nations Cup:
a) [FeAge‘s question:] Who was the MVP of the NC 2017?

b) Do you think another NC final in China would be a good idea or are the possibilities with different new sponsors making it more likely to be in Europe or even somewhere else?
I don’t think it will be in China again. As far as I know the SY sponsor is gone after SY’s failure on the last Nations Cup, so I doubt he will be the one to sponsor the next Nations Cup. I hope Microsoft will host one, or Memb, Memb is someone able to host a very great event, sadly with ECL running he can’t really host anything for 1 year. I don’t mind where the final will be, I will probably still go 11, hopefully in some country I never went.
I don’t know if Memb and his usual donors could do it on their own, especially if we want a LAN final. But he could be involved and planning will last a year or so anyway. Then it would probably be in western Europe too, so no new country. Although it would be interesting, I doubt we would find a sponsor who wants to host a NC in Brazil and for the US, many players already said it could be difficult to obtain visas, if you are from South America or China.
c) When you were in China, which food did you like the most?
I really dislike vegetable and also seafood, so Chinese food wasn’t good for me, I did enjoy Burger King a lot there.
d) What did surprise or shock you the most (unrelated to AoE)?
Pollution... But I was really surprised how Chinese are so lovely and did welcome us so well, even me although I wasn’t even a player of the final or a caster I got a room and everything I needed, all of them were really lovely.
e) Did you install WeChat/QQ and add some of the Chinese players or fans? Are you still in contact with any of those you were not in contact with before?
I made the mistake to not install it, it was a big mistake because then when I was there I realized that everything was blocked in China so couldn’t do anything. So I didn’t keep contact with anyone, just I build good friendship with xiaofan and Straydog who before the event I didn’t know much but after it I’m good friend with them on Voobly.
It’s not too late. Installing QQ is quite simple and you just need an e-mail address to add. So if you can ask them on Voobly. For your fans, it might be too late now though.
24. Which languages do you speak/understand and which would you like to learn?
French, English, some Arabic (basic), I learned 7 years of German but I still suck and since I didn’t practice, I lost a lot of it, and some sentences in Spanish (3k insults).
25. If you visit AoEZone and Voobly, is there something you like especially or would like to have improved?
On AoEZone: For phones I already noticed much stuff to improve but I’m lazy to list it and doubt it’s worth taking the time to fix all of this little stuff.
26. What is the funniest moment in your life you experienced because of AoE?
Wow, 11 Idk, I’m someone who laughs a lot and for little, I did experience many very funny moment, so I’m not sure what and when, I would probably pick a moment with FeAge, Dogao and Miguel in China, we had many hilarious moments.
27. If you were not in a relationship, and could date anyone, who would it be?
Hmmmm, excellent question, Halle Berry, her time in the past with short hair, wow. But now she’s 52 and me 21 11.
Is 11 and 42 better? 11 I think the difference will always be too big.
Finally 21 52 look more fine, I wouldn’t mind the age difference with her.

You went to Brazil, is it true their pizza are better than the ones we have in Europe ? In Italy?
I only ate pizza there once. 2 things I know: sweet pizza with fruit, chocolate, ice cream is quite common. And in the South there a many people with Italian origin, so they might have brought and possibly changed pizza. It should be a question of taste. I personally don't like what here is called American pizza that much.

It depends, between 23:00 to 2 am most of the time. I check AoEZone and Discord for new messages.

I would love to go America in 2019, I want go to Mexico too (Cancun for example), and also Thailand, well every year I want to see a different country I hope.
Any reason for those? For me Mexico would be interesting because of the Praecolumbian indigenous remains, especially the Aztec buildings. Also, it’s probably to a degree similar to Brazil, where the people and cuisine were very welcoming.
To discover, I always wanted go to America, see in reality how it’s on the movies 11, might as well catch AoC friends there, but would need at least a good month to see different cities.
And Mexico, because I’m interested in the environment, weather, food, all look very beautiful in some of the places there.
Many of us know you went to several AoE events around the world, to China (NC17), Hamburg (NAC18), Belgium and the German LAN. How do you manage doing that – both financially and temporally? I mean, are those like vacation for you, and your family, friends, partners are totally fine with it? If I would say, I want to travel alone to China for a gaming event and spend >1000 € on that, not everyone close to me would say that is a good idea.
It's like vacation for me, I mean when u spend time online with people you like, and can finally meet them in real life, it’s even better, so to me it made sense to go China, and others LAN/meet-up as well. It’s cool to have moments with people u spend time or chat online. We have a solid community.
10. What are your hobbies beside AoE?
I don’t do any sports, clubbing/shisha on the weekend. Eating outside.
11. Who would you like to meet once, who you have not met? One AoE player and one other person.
VM, I know him for like almost 10 years and still never met him despite we are French.
Does he also want to meet you or did you never talk about it?
Yeah, we want to meet, he lives in the South of France and me north so it’s far, and with work constraints it’s hard. But we hopefully will if there is some big french LAN or if I go to the South of France. (It’s most likely me that has more opportunity to travel).
12. Do you have an AoE idol?
Idol is a big word, but I’m a fan of a lot of persons not just one. Some players make magic, watching them sometimes is magic.
Viper obviously is one of them.

Nowadays I don’t like playing so I don’t really have favorite opponents. I’m not playing much, but I used to love playing like 10 games in a row against slam in like 2014, he was my favorite opponent. I was always hoping he would be in mood to play Arena. Least, Idk, nowadays I would say Stefan, just because his style is very boring.

My team: Between 8th to 6th hopefully, I hope more like 6th, but we are outsider/underdog.
b) After the qualification stage there are several top players without a team in the tournament, who still could join. Is there any player who you would like to have in your team if you could a) add another player, b) replace one player?
Well, FeAge, St4rk, Sitaux, Project Belgium are all interesting players that I like much in top of that too 11. And to replace no, unless one of us can’t play and is OK to substitute for one event or something which can happen, if not nothing will change in our team as we are already 6/6.
Stark plays in VNA. But I agree with the other players. If FeAge would want to play, I guess he might rather join LoS though.
18. Which 6 players from your country do you think will form the A team, if there will be a Nations Cup next summer? It will probably be on WK, which maps would you like to be included apart from Arabia, Nomad, Islands?
Good question, me, Sitaux, Hani, VM and the two last will depend on who practices and is in shape, if cebdos is around, cebdos is in, clement did improve, so probably cebdos and clement, would be the same team as last year just with clement instead of Eques who stopped AoC.

Viper, Liereyy, Nicov, Yo, MbL, Vivi, maybe RiuT if in shape or slam, maybe BacT if in top shape as well. I wasn’t happy with how TaToh performed, not even talking about DauT lol, but he should definitely come as a guest.
22. In which tournaments would you participate? Master of Islands 2, Master of the Sea (Islands, Team Islands, Baltic, Water Nomad and more), Master of MegaRandom 2 (1v1 or 2v2?), Master of Full Random, a tournament with just new maps that were not included in AoC?
MoMR, would prefer 2v2 but 1v1 fine as well.

I don’t think it will be in China again. As far as I know the SY sponsor is gone after SY’s failure on the last Nations Cup, so I doubt he will be the one to sponsor the next Nations Cup. I hope Microsoft will host one, or Memb, Memb is someone able to host a very great event, sadly with ECL running he can’t really host anything for 1 year. I don’t mind where the final will be, I will probably still go 11, hopefully in some country I never went.
I don’t know if Memb and his usual donors could do it on their own, especially if we want a LAN final. But he could be involved and planning will last a year or so anyway. Then it would probably be in western Europe too, so no new country. Although it would be interesting, I doubt we would find a sponsor who wants to host a NC in Brazil and for the US, many players already said it could be difficult to obtain visas, if you are from South America or China.
c) When you were in China, which food did you like the most?
I really dislike vegetable and also seafood, so Chinese food wasn’t good for me, I did enjoy Burger King a lot there.
d) What did surprise or shock you the most (unrelated to AoE)?
Pollution... But I was really surprised how Chinese are so lovely and did welcome us so well, even me although I wasn’t even a player of the final or a caster I got a room and everything I needed, all of them were really lovely.
e) Did you install WeChat/QQ and add some of the Chinese players or fans? Are you still in contact with any of those you were not in contact with before?
I made the mistake to not install it, it was a big mistake because then when I was there I realized that everything was blocked in China so couldn’t do anything. So I didn’t keep contact with anyone, just I build good friendship with xiaofan and Straydog who before the event I didn’t know much but after it I’m good friend with them on Voobly.
It’s not too late. Installing QQ is quite simple and you just need an e-mail address to add. So if you can ask them on Voobly. For your fans, it might be too late now though.
24. Which languages do you speak/understand and which would you like to learn?
French, English, some Arabic (basic), I learned 7 years of German but I still suck and since I didn’t practice, I lost a lot of it, and some sentences in Spanish (3k insults).
25. If you visit AoEZone and Voobly, is there something you like especially or would like to have improved?
On AoEZone: For phones I already noticed much stuff to improve but I’m lazy to list it and doubt it’s worth taking the time to fix all of this little stuff.
26. What is the funniest moment in your life you experienced because of AoE?
Wow, 11 Idk, I’m someone who laughs a lot and for little, I did experience many very funny moment, so I’m not sure what and when, I would probably pick a moment with FeAge, Dogao and Miguel in China, we had many hilarious moments.
27. If you were not in a relationship, and could date anyone, who would it be?
Hmmmm, excellent question, Halle Berry, her time in the past with short hair, wow. But now she’s 52 and me 21 11.

You went to Brazil, is it true their pizza are better than the ones we have in Europe ? In Italy?
I only ate pizza there once. 2 things I know: sweet pizza with fruit, chocolate, ice cream is quite common. And in the South there a many people with Italian origin, so they might have brought and possibly changed pizza. It should be a question of taste. I personally don't like what here is called American pizza that much.
