My favorite part of the video was "A special noob xD. Can't win with random civ huh?"
Apparently neither can you or you'd not have made the topic.
Also, I can't take someone who says "we still couldn't create a utopia in the year 2020 lol...true, imagine a world if people weren't so selfish" when they seem to spend the majority of their time playing video games and complaining what all they dislike about them. Maybe start solving world problems before making such grandiose statements.

Lol i can still decide who I play against and who I don't play against or? It was only Quick Play 1v1 so I don't care anyway. I also instantly resign when someone lames me, because these kind of people don't deserve to get a game. In hindsight I should have played the Mirror matchup, but I think i lost previously on BR vs uncounterable 80 Khmer Battle Elephants and 80 Balista Elephants so I was emotionally irretated.
Did you know that Khmer get Faith? Unbelievable

Personally, I think it's good that the self-righteous Austrian with anger management issues spends his life focused on AoE2 rather than "solving world problems" - last time that happened it didn't pan out so well.

By picking the best civ the player creates, on purpose, an uneven battlefield to begin with. How is that moral? I don't know about you but when I play against someone, I want fair battles and not a disadvantage to anyone. I could never choose a civ outside tournaments, hell even in ranked I go random, I would have a guilty conscience when i played e.g Franks Pocket or British Flank all day

Your opinions on morality are irrelevant. I couldn't care less about how you think people should play, you need to stop taking your anger out on others right now. You are not pillar of morality of this earth, you don't get to decide what others should and shouldn't do, stop forcing **your** opinions on everyone else as if they are somehow superior just because they are yours. Spoiler alert, they aren't.

You don't get to bully people because they used an option of the game that you don't like. Stop acting like a toddler, that's insufferable. If you can't behave like an adult, maybe it's time for a bit of introspection.

I say this with all the best intents in the world, but maybe seek help. It's ok to not be ok. We all have our flaws. Acknowledging them is the first step to bettering ourselves.

Hello, I am a noob. And I pick the best civs on BR just to win, as you said.

I work 8 hours first, still getting discouraging feedback from my boss for not working as "diligently" as he expected. Then as I switch on the news, I see a hell lot of sad things happening around the world. I do my boring daily chores. At the end of this mundane day, the only thing I want to do is play some Age2 and kick some ass to feel better 11. You can call it pathetic but I think that's the story of most people here 11.
So yeah I play to win, and that means fun to me. If I can kill your 40 arbs with a SO shot, my day will be made. And yeah I am a noob I guess, but aren't we all noobs at something?

You see a problem with the way the game is played and you start hating on pretty much everyone.
If you count to 10 and make a normal post about the fact that an all random mode for battle royale would be a nice feature. Then people will talk about it in a normal way.
But it is such a small issue that lashing out at people like this is completely stupid.
The gamemode did not even exist a while ago and you were doing just fine. Now cysion and his team add something extra to the game what gives a lot of fun to people and you act like he is evil.
Thats not normal man 11. Same goes for the people picking civs, they probabely didnt even think about it and you treat them like ****.

If you want people to take you seriously you got to be more objective. Stop behaving like an 10 year old.

i think in BR you should start with a small base not with heros. The decision to start with heros only leads to unnecessary variance in the early game cause you can get lucky/unlucky with when you find bases to capture

@Deathcounter I believe you're not trolling, so I'm addressing this as such.

You seem to choose a certain position (which I agree can have some merits) but you glue yourself to that place like your life depends on it. Everything outside that very fixed position you automatically label it as not acceptable and give yourself the mission to become a warrior to fight against it. You get so polarized that any interaction you make from there is extremist.
In other words you're losing yourself in your own morality to the point where you become insane. That is why you're receiving so much **** from everyone now.

A wider and more elastic perspective will allow you to still choose certain moral positions but at the same time not become a zealot.

There is no morality without flexibility.

Multiple times it is advertised that you are able to play Team games properly, which isn't the case, additionally, Units could occasionally walk through walls on release of this game.

This is fraud in my eyes and should be legally charged as such.

It's hilarious, do I have to remind you that Aoe3 DE had an Update, that wiped and deleted PERSONAL Data from your PC? And that those games are both developed by the same game?

Take the new UI for example: Unnecessary and Slow, Microsoft knew it, but they don't care about people who already bought the game.
If you watch this game on Stream and see this you are probably like: "Oh that menu looks very good with the Pictures", not knowing that its not responsive, slow and hides features under more clicks.

The devs of this game, don't care about people who still play the game, they just want to sell this game to those who haven't bought it, this is why they made Battle Royale, This is why they made the new UI, this is why they made the new Civ Selection Screen and this is why we have Event Mods and Profile Icons. While in Reality, hundreds of people still drop from their TG, Restoring isn't even possible, Water Balance is most boring than ever, TG turn into a PowerPoint presentation in Imp.
All that they focus on is one thing: Selling this game, doom to all who already bought it. You can't tell me any game that gets worse with Updates

And the most disturbing thing about this community is: They actively approve all of this, they say that this Game is good, while my BR Queue Randomly STOPS and kicks me out, just randomly, Boars randomly stop while they claimed they fixed that, they didn't. They say they are Cross Plattform, while any Microsoft Store player are slower to connect in the preparation Screen. And I get more "Failed to join Match" messages than the total time in hours the Software Tester work on this game

This is what this is all about, and it's hilarious. Cysion just recently told me on Discord that the features I'd like for my Scenario are really hard to implement because "you may have heard that the Age2 engine is old and has a lot of spaghetti code, and that's very true "
Excuse me is this my problem? I could have told them from the beginning that making a Game in 2020 with an over 20 year old Engine might not be the best idea... But hey, you gotta sell AoE4 somehow right?

Dude you really moved the goalpost in this one. This thread was about picking civs in BR and nothing else. People called you out for your selfish "if you don't play the way i like you are stupid"-view and now you make this about everything wrong with aoeDE. How are perfomance issues (while they are a big problem for sure) related to this at all? Take a break, you clearly need it.

Because Matchmaking forces us to alt f4, give us maps we dont want to play,

Also, remember when you said it's totally fine to alt+f4 because in your opinion the game should not force you to play something you dont want to?

So in theory the last patch should be a very good solution for the pick/random "problem" in team games. Just pick your favourite civ and enable the preferred random civ toggle. If the majority of players wants to go rendom, it will be random, if the majority wants to pick, you have a good civ yourself. Pretty good solution in my opinion. It's fair and democratic. If you tryhard on the ladder, it's totally fine.
