Seen a discussion about fastest possible feudal age time and decided to take my shot. Result - 5:14, let me know if anybody beats it. Otherwise I think I have the WR.

Depends on civs,settings, maps and even aoe version, clearly all previous WR can be easily destroyed with Malays.

Fastest possible FC is way better experiment imo because than idling your tc in dark age isnt a thing anymore and a 12min mangonel monk rush with 0 farms is actually a strat that could work on arena atleast :smile:

@robo - I posted in the daily games, but missclicked and just then edited with the game. Didnt know it makes 2 topics instead. Game is posted in daily games though.
@Sifly - I think the BO is the best and it was played basically perfect on ideal Arabia map. Maybe you can cut somewhere 1 more sec if you play it even more precious. I can imagine that my vills went 1 tile more than they could + maybe if you can do downhill hits on the boar you can kill it with 1 less strike (not sure now) or ideally if you have deers like on hamburger you can use them instead of the boar and possibly up like 2 sec faster (also didn't tested). But on standard Arabia, I don't think that anybody can get below 5:13 and even 5:13 would be very impressive. So saying "it obviously isn't the fastest time out there" is wrong.
@Jibb - I'm not gonna test FC on standard Ara, because there are so many more aspects your map would need to have perfect so just looking for ideal map would take ages. I've seen a rec on Scandinavia (3boars) with 10:30 castle time mongol, I've used Border Dispute instead and got to 10:12 on fast speed with Mongol but also with 4 boars. Also I'm not sure my BO was perfect. 9:xx should be doable if everything works properly, slow speed, close gold etc. I doubt it has any usage though. If you can get 70/20 on Arena it's better :wink: .
And without wheelbarrow and with mongol I'm very sure this is doable.

booming with horse collar and bowsaw from start: 70/20.00 is not possible! With brits u can do 22+2 + sell 100 wood take 30 gold without mining camp into a straight 3tc boom without idle tc once and it results in 60+ maximum 63 vills, about the same goes for persian 24+2. Never tested booming without 2nd wood though but its not worth the extra vills anyway i think.

Edit: Mongol is slower than brits and persia, also anyone who does wheelbarrow in booming before 20 mins is kinda dumb^^
Setting is ofc standard resources, and i tryed my oflline booming with researching horsecollar and bowsaw. Maybe close to 70 is possible with berries and wood in minimal distance from tc and a constant micro on wood vills in the same way like you micro sheep vills -> clicking on any new tree like 1 wood before it gets cut down which results into an superior economy sothat you can use more vills on building the 2 extra tcs and/or maybe even save 1 more in dark. People should try make a segmented arena booming TAS with 0.000001 timescale, and perfected AI tools! :D

I spoke about direct 4 TCs mongol 25+2. I've seen it live vs singleplayer and fast speed and even with small mistakes it was 61/20 with wheelbarrow.
Just if you count it:
14:30 - 14:35 castle time 27 pop - 15:50 - 30 pop you have 4 TCs up. And if you're playing it perfectly you'll be able to make 10 vills from each TC = 40+30 = 70 - scout = 69 vill. I believe it's possible to go for 24+2, 25+2 should be doable even with 3 deer.
Also about brit 22+2 - you should be up under 13:20. That means 14:35 3 TCs with 27 pop. And you can que 13 vill in each of your 3 TCs so 66 pop is possible.
Also I think you can get a bit better vill count if you use more than 4 vills for buildings TCs + cut some secs on the up time, using slow speed etc. I don't think its possible to get it with brit, but I'm very sure its possible with mong.

I did some calculations to figure out a lower boundry for the fastest possible feudal time:
following assumptions:
-food is gathered at 0,610 f/s (mongol hunters)
-mill and lumbercamp take 35 seconds to build (one villager)
-0 villager walking time, boar with infinite food is already dead under TC

I am going to spare you the math, but building two additional villagers yields the lowest possible time with 4:50. I am going to do some testing, to see how quickly I can get the villagers to gather food.

Did you include the time for cutting 30w and building a house? I think you have like 10s idle time for vills moving/shooting boar. So that means around 5:00

I tried additional vills before.. but the 5 pop setup got me better results. (5:11 on draconts broken op map)

A 5th villager costs this:
35 s (house)
80 s (cutting 30 wood)
125 s (getting 50 food from hunt which, he costet)
= 240s = 4min
He can be built @ 00:25 and will be finished/start work @00:50.

So i dont see how he can help to make a 4:50 time. Should be the same as with 4 vills. Maybe if u delete the scout 11

Yeah with deleting the scout it should work :smile: depends on how fast u find ur boars, deers are not an option then 11

Yes, with my assumptions you have no need for a scout. So I did the calculations without a house.
The assumptions are not realistic, I know :D
You can get the boar under the TC before the 4th villager is done, so you can easily delete your scout then. But you need more food than the 350 from the 1 boar. If we are talking about the fastest possible time, we have to consider things like that bug where a random deer just runs through your TC in the beginning of a game. Having that bug and needing 10 seconds to get the boar under your TC, 5:00 becomes the fastest time possible.

On a side note, I wrote a small programm to come up with a lower boundry for the fastest possible time a wonder can be constructed. Unfortunately this is a much more complex situation and the assumptions become even less realistic than before:
- Maximum of 8 sheep, 3 deer and 2 boar from which 6/7 of the food is actually gathered (1/7 decays)
- Spain Teambonus
- again no Villager walking/idle/shooting time
- every building, except the wonder, will be built by one villager only
- 1 lumbercamp, 1 mill, 3 miningcamps
- 1 monestary, 1 siege workshop, 1 market, 1 blacksmith
- 1st wood- and goldupgrade are done instantely but still need to be paid off later
- buildings are not required to advance (meaning you build all the villagers first and then have 0 seconds between getting feudal age and clicking up to castle age and again 0 seconds between reaching castle age and clicking imperial age)
- houses and farms are calculated dynamically to fit the number to villagers

If we accept all these requirements, with the unrealstic ones being no villager downtime and advancing through the ages in one go, the fastest possible time will be 20:28 with 29 villagers total. I personally played about 100 wonderraces with my best time being 24:56 in multiplayer (normal speed, no pauses, small input lag), so my guess for the best possible time is about 22:00-23:00.
