Teams:
Each team must have 2 members and may have 1 additional member who will act as a substitute. The team leader must be fluent in English – the official language of this tournament.
In case none of the members are fluent in English, each team is allowed to have an external operator for scheduling and communication with the Tournament Staff and other teams. The operator may schedule games for multiple teams but is not allowed to play for them. He may, however, play for a team which he is a member of (like everyone else, he may be a member of one team only).
If a team has an external operator, they must state their nickname, msn and email when signing up.
To sign up your team you must state the following information
Voobly nicknames and profile page links of all members (including the substitute):
Voobly nickname and profile page link of the teamleader:
Teamleader's email:
Teamleader's msn:
Operator's nickname, email and msn:
(in case a team has an operator)
By signing up you automatically agree with all the rules.
Players
All players signed up in their team are allowed to play. The team roster cannot, however, be changed once the tournament has started.
If a player who is not listed plays for a team, the team will be disqualified.
Players can only play for one team. If a player is caught playing for 2 teams, then such player and the team they smurfed for will be disquilified.
All members must play all games using the nickname which they signed up in the team's list. Ignoring this rule may render the set of games invalid and points deducted.
All nicknames signed up in the team's list must be Voobly usernames.
Dates
The sign-ups start on 1st September and will be open until the spots are filled, or until 17th September 12:00 GMT.
Spots
Initially 32 open spots. This number may change later considering how many teams sign up.
Tables & Brackets

All players are obliged to have Age of Empires: The Conquerors installed and updated with patch 1.0c
All games must be played in 2v2 format, there are no exceptions.
Teams that advance to Final Stage are given an opportunity to pick their own EC Home Map. They may choose only the official EC maps from the list below.
The list of Extreme Challenge Maps:
EC-Final@Accessible_Forest
EC-Final@Atacama
EC-Final@Atlantean_Relics – (restart allowed in the first 2 minutes only)
EC-Final@Border_Dispute-Fixed – (restart not allowed)
EC-Final@Tsunami
EC-Final@Scattered_Islets – (no fighting with villagers allowed until TCs are built)
EC-Final@Manx – (No fights are allowed until the 1st TC of both players is up. Walling is not allowed until the 1st TC of both players is up. Lumber camp must always be the first building of all players. Sheep killing or stealing is not allowed until 1st TC of both players is up. TC fighting is not allowed. If one of these conditions are broken, the game must be restarded. If it is proven that someone deliberately broke one of these conditions to force a restart, it can result in an admin loss. If one of the players has a trapped villager, the game must be restarted. If a player lies about having a trapped villager to force a restart, they receive a warning or even an admin loss based on the Tournament Staff's decision.)
EC-Final@Hamburger – (restart allowed in the first 2 minutes only)
EC-Final@The_Eye – (restart not allowed)
EC-Final@Outward_Bound
Sling is allowed in all maps.
If players break the rules and restrictions of the maps (such as initiating vill war), the games may be invalid depending on our Staff's decision.
All EC Maps can be downloaded here: Extreme Challenge Tournament Map Pack
When playing, make sure you use the official EC maps named with “EC-Final@” at the beginning. Using previous versions of the maps will automatically render the games invalid.
Important: For round 2, make sure you are using the updated version of Border_Dispute. If you haven't downloaded it yet, you can do it here.
Any team caught and proven to be using cheats/hacks will be permanently banned from the tournament.
Cooping is not allowed.

Restart Rule
In all the games, if a player wants to restart the game before 5th minute of the game, the map can be restarted. The only exceptions are EC-Final@Border_Dispute-Fixed and EC-Final@The_Eye in which restart is not allowed. Furthermore, EC- Final@Hamburger and EC- Final@Atlantean_Relics allow restart only before the 2nd minute of the game.
In Group Stage, the restart can be requested only one time during a match by each team.
In Final Stage, the restart can be requested two times during a match by each team.
Prizes:
1st place: 2 most active players awarded with 45 Vobly points each
2nd place: 2 most active players awarded with 35 Vobly points each
3rd place: 2 most active players awarded with 25 Vobly points each
If a player's rating is 2200 or higher, points cannot be awarded to their nickname. They can, however, choose another one of their nicknames with lower rating to which they can have the points awarded.
If the team consists of 3 players (one being the substitute), the team leader can choose to split the total amount of points among all 3 members of the team, or choose any 2 players of the team to receive the points, as they see fit. The points must always be split at least among two players of the team because more than 45/35/25 can never be awarded to one player.
For example if a team wins, all 3 members can receive 30 points each or any 2 members can receive 45 each, depending on the team leader's decision.
Additional Rules:
Each round must be played within the given week, only in special cases may the games be postponed. Such decisions will be made by the Tournament Staff.
If teams cannot agree on a date, the Tournament Staff will set an Admin Time.
If a team doesn't reply in the scheduling topic before Saturday of a given week, this team will get an admin loss. Exceptions may be granted to teams that schedule via MSN or other means.
If one of the teams does not show up at the scheduled time, the other time is obliged to wait for 30 minutes before taking a screenshot. The team that did not show up will get an admin loss, unless the other team is willing to reschedule, or the Tournament Staff decide otherwise.
When taking a screenshot, the team which is ready to play must be visible along with this website: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx
In case of disconnections, the game must be restored right after the drop. If restoring is not possible, the Tournament Staff will make a decision after reviewing all the facts.
The recorded games must be posted by the winner team once the match has been played. If the match ended in a draw, either of the two teams may post it. The recorded games must be posted in the correct forum and with correct topic title (eg. EC Tournament Group A R1 PlayerA+PlayerB vs PlayerC+PlayerD). The poster must also mention the result of the games but is obliged to use the spoiler tag.
All the recorded games (including the restarted ones) must be renamed accordingly (eg. EC Tournament Group A R1 PlayerA+PlayerB vs PlayerC+PlayerD Tsunami.mgx) and archived in one single zip file before posting.
In case of restored games, a screenshot proving that the game was finished must be posted instead of the recorded game.
Players are allowed to use Small Trees v2 patch also known as "***** wood" during the tournament. It can be downloaded here.
Rules and settings can be added/modified at any time
