Thank you everyone, for accompanying us in this long trip. EULC aimed at bringing an entertaining competition to European Clans and we are very happy with its outcome. For 18 weeks, clans divided in two leagues have fought in very attractive maps against worthy adversaries, and we have had the opportunity to enjoy wonderful matches. Here´s a quick overview of what happened:
EULC Champions League
We started the league with the Nordic Stage. A very particular set of maps created or customized specially for EULC. We were really impressed by maps like Frazil and Glacier. Everyone seemed to enjoy them. We saw teams preparing this or that map and becoming better at them. The French team, Alliance Francophone A won absolutely everything. Even against Rulers of Rome (2-0) and Spain (2-0), who were definitely the favorites. At the end of the first stage, the French seemed unstoppable and won the Nordic Stage without losing a single game. Spain ended second, and RoR third.
The Mediterranean Stage came by with backups for some of the teams. Alliance Francophone added Luca (pop200), the old timers form CZ brought some new blood: Stejvi_CZ, Lunacy added Scogo, and The Brits were decided to level up the team by bringing Hallis and Steakmaster. Shortly after it started, it was clear that Stage 2 was bringing surprises. This was indeed the case: Rulers of Rome beating Alliance Francophone 2-0, Spain losing to Lunacy and CZ. Finally, CZ beating Alliance Francophone was a surprise.
RoR ended up winning the Mediterranean Stage, only losing against Spain 1-2 in a wonderful duel. It was then decided: RoR and Alliance Francophone to the BIG FINALS (450 Euros), and Spain won the 3rd place (50 Euros). In addition to the 500 Euros, these three clans get physical trophies with the name of the clan, and Voobly Premium Accounts (thanks to Voobly) for each member. They also get 3 Game Keys for Age of Empires 2: HD (thanks to Microsoft) and these nice medals in their profiles:
EULC Europa League
This league had two clear leaders throughout both stages and then the rest of the teams fought hard for the third place. Once again, the French Alliance Francophone were absolutely unbeatable. Also @robo ´s team was on top: NoobsQad. Every team lost against them in both stages: Nordic and Mediterranean Stage. The matches between these two teams were absolutely awesome. Specially the ones at Nordic Stage, which was 2-1. Very very tight.
This league had the most players added to the teams during the event. Teams which found really good players and changed a lot from Nordic to Mediterranean were Villains and Age of Gentuzas. The Norwegians "Villains" added Sandalen, Rablebok, two old timers with many RTS Leagues under their belts. Age of Gentuzas added VladVonCarstein, a kick ass 18+ Spanish player who brought a lot of power to the team.
Nordic Stage finished with Disciples of Abraxas and Villains sharing the 3rd place. A renewed VLNS for Mediterranean Stage was far too good for the rest of the teams and ended up claiming the 3rd place for themselves. NoobsQad finished second, and Alliance Francophone B is the Europa League Champion. The three clans receive three trophies with the name of the clan, premium Voobly accounts for all the members of the clan (Thank you Voobly), 3 Game Keys for Age of Empires 2: HD (Thank you Microsoft), and these pretty medals in their profiles:
