EGC - OFFICIAL RULES |
1. General Rules |
- All players must respect the tournament schedule for each round. There will be NO exceptions or delays granted to ANY player. No excuse will be accepted for failing to play in the specified time. If the admin staff determine that a player is trying to avoid scheduling and playing the tournament games, the player may be warned, receive an admin loss for the game or match or be disqualified from the EGCtournament.
- If both players cannot come to an agreement in scheduling their match, staff will analyze the situation, schedule and time zones in order to add a viable Admin Time that suits both players to the best of our ability. Admins will ensure players are not forced to play games between 2am - 6am Local time.
- Every player must respect their opponent. Bad behavior (determined by staff) will result in a warning and may lead to an immediate disqualification. This tournament values not only skills, but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, racism or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in game are allowed.
- All players must agree to the No Smurfing rule. Smurfing and account sharing is not allowed. Any discovery of the mentioned will result in an immediate disqualification.
- All games are by default to be played in RM/DM - Medieval Siege using the Balance Ladder. If both players agree to play in another lobby on Voobly, that is accepted as well.
- During the event, immediately after completion of each match, the winning player has to rename the recorded games according to the rules and post them in the EGC Recorded Games section  Recorded Games of that respective round.
- Before posting, the recorded recorded game files must be renamed in the following format:
Rec renaming examples:
EGC_R1 Bear_Grylls (POV) vs Wild_Nature G1 .mgz
EGC_R2 Bear_Grylls (POV) vs Wild_Nature G2 .mgz
Pack naming examples:
EGC_R1 Bear_Grylls(POV) vs Wild_Nature.zip
EGC_R2 Bear_Grylls(POV) vs Wild_Nature.zip
If the games aren't renamed correctly (or not packed), the result won't be accepted until the games are renamed/packed according to the given format.
From the Round Robin Stage onwards, both players must send the recorded games to Carlos Ferdinand, who will then post them to avoid any spoilers. More information about this will be given in the respective Scheduling threads.
- Additional time to complete your games will NOT be granted under any circumstances!
- All games must be scheduled and confirmed by both players in the EGC Scheduling forums  Scheduling Forums, informing the other player of the exact date and time of the arranged games. The scheduled time needs to be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance to allow for a stream set up.
- If there is no agreement about the playing time by Thursday 00.01 GMT, the staff might start interfering in order to get the games scheduled and completed in time.
- In case of disconnections, the game must be saved and restored. All of the .mgz recorded game files (multiple parts of the game before/after drop) must be provided when posting the recorded games.
If restoring is not possible, the recorded game should be provided, along with any additional information to the administration of the EGC instantly. Subsequently, facts will be analyzed and a final decision made.
- Once players have arranged and confirmed a time to play, the maximum waiting time that will be tolerated is 15 minutes. Arriving late, i.e. up to 60 minutes, results in a penalty (starting score 0:1). If one of the players fails to arrive within 60 minutes, the waiting player must take a screenshot showing http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx (so the current time is clearly visible) with the Tournament Lobby Game Room, and post the screenshot in Admin Requests topic( Admin Requests, with a link to the post in the Scheduling forums where the game time was arranged and confirmed. This way, tournament admins will know how long the player waited and upon admins' decision, the player that did not come might get an Admin Loss for the games. Do not try to edit time arrangement posts in an attempt to get free wins, because our forum registers the exact date and hour of each edited post. Such actions are considered cheating and the offender will be punished according to rules.
- Prizes will be sent via PayPal. If the recipients do not use/have PayPal the prizes will be sent by other means. However, certain fees may be deducted from the amount.
- If a game is not recorded, it must be replayed regardless of result and evidence of it.
- By signing up for the tournament you agree to have all your games streamed and casted using the Spectator Mode on Voobly using UserPatch v1.4 RC. Official streams from Ro16 onwards will have a delay to avoid cheating. Players have the right to keep spectators excluded or set a spectator delay of 3:00. There is no assurance of your games being streamed, but the possibility is there at all times.
- New rules can be added and current rules can be changed. However, Admins MUST inform the players about such changes in the EGC Rules & Settings forum. All the latest additions in Rules & Settings will be marked in red.
- If a player learns won't play at their regular location due to travel or vacation, they have to inform admins in advance. If admins have any concern over a players location and have not had a prior request, the respective player may get disqualified.
- No player will be allowed to refuse the presence of an authorized streamer who has identified himself as such.
