Which Hera thread? You have to be specific, there's a long list when it pertains to his actions (beit smurfing, racist behavior, being a **** to other players etc.) making its way here.

How long have you been playing Age?It's sad that most of you try to be funny instead of rebuking the toxic behavior and standing with the innocent you resort to humor mechanism and memes. You did a good job of that! You earned yourself a few likes meantime Edie wishes death and insulted a player.
Ah, the good old "I have black friends, so I can't be a racist scumbag no matter what I say" logic.if he is saying I’m racist or something against maroco, while im myself arabic u can see here how stupid he is
Idk why you quoted my message considering I did rebuke the toxic behavior in that very quote. It's sad that most of you try to be funny instead of rebuking the toxic behavior and standing with the innocent you resort to humor mechanism and memes. KappaAre you guys kidding?? No, Gregstein pulling the "my dad works at Microsoft" card does not somehow make his criticism of Edie invalid.
I will admit that I have said awful things ingame to my opponents due to salt. One of my most recent streams involved me essentially shouting vulgar things including "KILL YOURSELF" (not in chat, but out loud on my stream) during the game. Quite frankly I deserve to be banned on twitch for this kind of ****, I'm not proud of saying this stuff, it's a huge ****ing character flaw and I need to work on my anger issues obviously. My chat finds it funny. People saying "this is normal in games like LoL and CoD, chill, who cares" is baffling to me. THIS SHOULD be condoned. The fact this attitude exists at all, especially sometimes in my Twitch chat, makes me more likely to feel like I should let myself continue this behavior, which will lead to me not improving as a person as I desire to. Don't encourage my (or anyone else's) shitty behavior PLEASE.
And that being said... I at LEAST apologize afterwards!! I'm genuinely disappointed in the fact @edie is doubling down on this and continuing to call his opponents cheaters (and vaguely saying one of them is a "known cheater" without actually specifying or providing any proof) and telling them to go to hell... dude, just apologize. Clearly, people will forgive you for being a salty asshole, as people have done for me. The AoE2 community is WAY too forgiving. It works out for me, because otherwise I would be permanently banned from this community and all discords and probably the game as a whole, but objectively nobody deserves to get away with this disrespect. This is not normal. Please.
Please excuse his English, he is American.Kappa
You’ve listed them all so it doesn’t really matter. I really don’t get how those threads were taken so seriously compared to this one. There’s really something off with that picture. Can anyone really say aoezone is a pleasant place after this one? I know you’ve mentioned this place is fine Myth literally like less than a week ago. Can you?Which Hera thread? It was brought to my attention that the infamous ex top arena player Edie displayed hateful conduct & harassment toward a player on ranked ladder and a twitch user.
It all started when Team France got defeated by Team Morocco
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1458200080?t=03h01m42s
Edie queued for a 1v1 and lost to a Moroccan player again and launched a series of personal attacks and accusations against a streamer/player "https://www.twitch.tv/haraoe", clipped in [VIDEO 1] "https://clips.twitch.tv/EvilSpoopyDoveUnSane-GA2SIunsWhtQIc7s" translates in english to "..I wish this guy Haraoe death..He's a cheater...I hope he dies son of ***..."
Then again another attack against a twitch viewer [VIDEO 2]
https://clips.twitch.tv/AbstemiousEnergeticBobaKappaRoss-2qGZV9Cc1Njcc3Tn translates in english to "Your whore mother Rachida is hanging out in the streets of Marrakech...")
I talked to my fellow Moroccan friends they swore they did not stream cheat. They gather in discord as usual to play ranked team games together. Three of the Moroccan players are 2k/19+ and so the accusations and hateful speech by Edie is intolerable for someone who is good at the game and do not make any sense.
I had respect for the guy but after seeing those vulgar insults I'm just speechless... To wish someone death after you lose to them in a game and accuse them of cheating goes beyond my expectations. He will influence other players to become toxic as well.

With all due respect Myth, it was essentially a yes or no question. Not a research paper and we’re trying to fill up the pages. Can you articulate the problem? It appears well-known member of the community did a bad thing and there has been evidence provided to show that they indeed did a bad thing. In fact I believe (someone can correct me if I'm mistaken,) they admit they have indeed done a bad thing , I believe under the context of counter-accusing their opponent as stream-sniping (as justification.)
Let's be clear: that's not okay.
I understand AOE2 is an escape for some folks from things like this (racism, bullying, stereotypes, et al,)-- but one can't make a claim that they want a nice wholesome community, or make claims like "AOE2 has the BEST community," and also ignore things like this or turn the other cheek when they occur. Public discourse can modify behavior, if not necessarily change an individuals ideas. People who are prone to do certain things might avoid it if there are consequences.
Sure, broseph looks ridiculous with the twitch-ban line but I'm not sure why I should be inclined to justify excusing the behavior on display, or how excusing it would benefit the community as opposed to ignoring it or treating it as "boys being boys." Besides, OP seems like he felt personally insulted even if from a second-hand tirade because it contained ethnic/racist tropes. I am no psychologist or telepath, but I have deduced that him being Moroccan and the insults being geared towards a generalization therein might play into his investment into bringing it up in the first place.
I think it's a great benefit of AOEZone that behavior like this is documented, as I recall player behavior very similar to this has impacted tournament eligibility for Capoch in the past and I fully support such things when something egregious occurs and/or there's a demonstrated pattern of behavior.
I would surmise if people wanted less than independent information they would get all of their AOE2 info fed from their favorite streamer and/or the highest upvoted reddit post. I am a firm believer that if someone doesn't want to engage in a given thread they are more than capable of not doing so. I am frequently reminded by users alleging they have used them on myself that capabilities exist to even self-censor parts of the forum(s) by ignoring users.
What a wonderful place that things like this aren't just automatically deleted because the person in question is famous, the person in question is a friend of an admin, or the OP isn't as articulate or diplomatic as another user might be -- yet might have something worth sharing, discussing or noting for the future.
With all due respect Myth, it was essentially a yes or no question. Not a research paper and we’re trying to fill up the pages.
It was from the other topic 3-4 days ago (forgot which topic, long past few days for me) when you were basically saying this place isn’t a “toxic cesspool”. Was just wondering if that still stood since you quoted me in that topic and here. Don’t know if you or how many others saw the deleted message, but it didn’t feel clean.
Otherwise to not completely ignore the rest of what you said, I do agree with the Capoch part. I just don’t believe in cancellation at same time as it has been mentioned here and in the other topic we were in.
Won’t say anything else after that, don’t think anyone wants or requires my full opinion on the current topic.
Guess I was naive to think you’d give a simple answer 11. Recovering from a bad 2 day migraine so a lot of reading can make me snippy if that’s the correct word.My answer is yes -- emphatically.
If I go to certain streamers channels I get flamed for simply bothering to post in complete sentences on AOEzone. No where else will you find record of accomplishments and witty banter (and at times barbs traded,) by AOE2 legends like on AOEZone.
Do you remember when Daut gave MBL a classic line when arguing about laming? Do you remember folks celebrating Hera finally getting over the hump? Where else have you seen folks who otherwise are diametrically opposed in terms of AOE2 playstyles come together to try to find crowd-sourced solutions to AOE2 tournaments?
Where else can you find AOE2 legends, let alone pro's arguing to a point of intensity worth reading, let alone hearing -- about the same game we all love? Where can you find out about who the "pro's," are, what their opinion's are and what drives their interests as it pertains to AOE2 and where they see its future going? Where can you organize tournaments and consolidate the list of events occurring now and in the near future? I would have missed several tournaments that I rightfully got my ass beaten in if I didn't see the sign up on these boards.
The AOE2 forums, the AOE2 reddit, and most AOE2 blogs or snippets even when expertly done (sorry Masmora, TWest,) just aren't all in one place for me to easily access with a click or search.
PS: Did you really think you'd just get a yes/no from me? :D Also, I haven't paid too much attention to the topic because otherwise being disappointed in edie the drama occurred in a language I only partially speak - and I've been taking care of the house and missus two months out from our first kid. I missed something if it was deleted.

Not everything about the 2000's was better. How long have you been playing Age?
Usual **** for the 2000's boys and girls
Wow this got aggressive at the end.Greg
You released a tool for AoE2 on Voobly that was proven to send user's credentials to your own server. How about you pipe down before you accuse people who chat **** of being the real problem in AoE2.
Edit: "Take OGN as an example, he never has been toxic or insulted people on the stream. If you do not tune down your hateful speech and false accusations I would personally take it upon myself to have your twitch channel permanently banned as I do have a connection in Twitch technical support. But I'd rather give you a chance to change and be respectful and respected."
This quote lol. Okay. Lets go into the basics: OGN and his friends he plays with are extremely toxic. Theres twitch highlights on the AoE2DE twitch for example showing so. I've seen so many times as we (me + dragon + other players) back in the day kept being matched against these toxic carpet rugs. They even play toxic with full tryhard all player forwards and chatting full on **** to tilt people in even unranked games. Ive even seen one occasion with one of them (regular players with OGN) queuing for 4v4 solo at the same time and walling in their teammate's TCs when they get matched VS OGN's team a year ago. You have as good of a connection to Twitch technical support that could do anything about a user being even a fraction of as toxic as you as I do with putting my schlong in a bacon slicer. I have more connections with Palm Olive. I have more connections with bubble gum 35 days past its expiry date. You say "hi" to a guy once and then you spend the next three weeks stalking him thinking that because he even gave you a glance immediately makes him your best friend that wants your wee white sloth. Pipe down.
AoEZone toxicity on full display here 11Guess I was naive to think you’d give a simple answer 11. Recovering from a bad 2 day migraine so a lot of reading can make me snippy if that’s the correct word.
Congrats on your first kid and hope all is well with him/her. I really worry for every parent these days having kids with the pandemic.
Why are you straight up assuming the kid has him/her pronouns? The f*ck is wrong with people nowadays...Guess I was naive to think you’d give a simple answer 11. Recovering from a bad 2 day migraine so a lot of reading can make me snippy if that’s the correct word.

Hmm, the choice of words is not very accurate here. Islamic (related to islam, e.g. religion) and Arabic (ethnicity) are two very different things. So is Edie specifically Moroccan or is he just Arabic in general? Obviously with France when you hear of someone with Islamic heritage you first think Algeria.

If I'm not mistaken, Edie is of Algerian descent.
After seeing Edie’s deleted post, I actually don’t know if this is serious or not. I assume it is a joke but I don’t see the punchline. Why are you straight up assuming the kid has him/her pronouns? The f*ck is wrong with people nowadays...
INSHALLAH BROTHERI hope Elon Musk is not only buying Twitter, but Aoezone too. About time to cancel the cancel culture people.
I don't think it is unreasonable to equate Islamic with Arabic in that way. Even if there are many who aren't religious they are still products of a society where that religion dominates.Hmm, the choice of words is not very accurate here. Islamic (related to islam, e.g. religion) and Arabic (ethnicity) are two very different things.
France has a lot of people of Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian descent. Obviously these groups are in majority of Arabic ethinicity and Muslim, but there are also many who aren't religious, or descend from other ethnicities (for instance Berber or Kabyle).
If I'm not mistaken, Edie is of Algerian descent.
