I provided a bit of constructive criticism + an insult. People who threaten others with administrative powers are the ones who should step down and let professionals handle these issues as he's not fit for the job. I never had anything against greg until he made this post. Edie insulted knowing the consequences based on his actions and who he is as a person. Let the people of twitch handle this problem rather than some crybaby going to the public about it. I'm not going to take back my insult btw because I used to respect his commitment for voobly/steam until now. I'm sure he doesn't care either, he ruined his own self image because of his threat.

It seems usually the person filing the complaint is not doing so with the best intentions. For example, when I made the "2k player Nightstyle toxic" thread, it was just out of salt, he didn't actually do anything heinous and I just looked like an *****.
The previous "complaint" threads I remember were Gabi accusing Spring of racism (which ofc turned out to be Gabi misinterpreting innocent conduct), and Cheap_ complaining about being labelled a racist because he was playing with people who had racist jokes as their usernames (and he considered this to just be "differences of political opinion" despite these people literally being neo-nazis). Gabi didn't deserve to be personally attacked (but neither did Spring, so it was a shitty situation) but all of the other complaint threads I can think of have not been worth taking seriously

That doesn't justify aggressive personal attacks however. Like there is no effort by most people to even try and understand where Gregstein is coming from. The Twitch connection threat thing is bad but think about why someone with his personality might say something like that.

Well it's clear to me at this point that Gregstein had a good point initially, which was exemplified by Edie refusing to even properly defend himself (because Edie couldn't care less what AoEZone thinks of him), but he is simply salty over Edie being mean to his friends. To be honest, a thread was not warranted at all. He is ego-tripping. I made a post essentially defending him and he quoted it as if it was an attack and clearly did not even read past the first two lines.

Couldn’t this be said with like literally 90% (if not more) of the “drama” threads that ever occur on here? I probably sound quite rude here, but couldn’t it be chalked up to some tough crap rule or some 4head rule like life is tough just deal with it? I mean I’ve been through some very rough stuff in life and some with trolls on the aoe forums/platforms in the past, but I never made any kind of thread about it. Otherwise, most of them feel like are in the Hollywood gossip zone of who done this, how bad is it, how long are we going to talk about it, and who is going to do worse tomorrow.

Also btw with him quoting you, personally I thought it was a mistake but you might very well be right.

I did notice how he misread your post defending him which bothered me greatly but to me that suggested overagitation more than anything really sinister. That could be considered an ego trip in some indirect way I suppose but to me it's still something where animosity is not a justifiable response.

A bit late but all I am gonna say is that "burp" from Edie at 3:02:00 of video explains everything. If you see a French burping while speaking, just don't push it, that means they are already frustrated enough they will say whatever they think without filtering afterwards. It is like an Italian making you hand gestures

Problem is alot of old players have played vs many cheaters from specific regions so it taints any smurf name from that region and new up and comer. Its not right on either side but atleast give edie the benefit of the doubt, hes just back and experiencing new players so probably has some biases that don't look to pretty. Like when you saw other top players yelling about mexican, turkish, vietnam cheaters/spec cheaters. This 100% happens at top level and sucks for alot of streamers especially because the cheaters are toxic af and target you at times. I'm 100% sure edie is against cheaters and not region/race so atleast be mad at him for the right reason 11.

It actually is surprising to come back to this topic later on and it becomes a joke fest. Feels a bit weird when the Hera topic a year ago turns into a fiasco or Spring gets death threats for a week over a misunderstanding. I suppose Gregstein asked for it a bit after what he said but honestly these forums have become very strange since aoe4 came out.

its a weird influx of woke culture. Its easier to come to the aid of the right side of an argument than to wait and look at both parties first to figure out who is standing on which side. It really sucks for everyone involved. Even after Gabi made her side clear that it was a misunderstanding and we ended back where we started as ladder "frienamies" I got "monkey ****s" comments in chat and death threats in my dms... for a couple months, people can be nutty when they have righteous anger, it reminds me of religious fanaticism in the dark ages. scarrryyyy when you are the witch or marter.

That being said, some of the influx has been very good for the community. Like the expectation to treat people like humans first no matter your biases and having civilized discourse being the goal. Usually the attacks seem to be angled at improving behavior in one form or another.
