Each market producing trade-carts requires 2-3G (with Gold Mining or Shaft Mining) and 4W. Let's say you want to keep churning out Paladins/Cavalier from 5-6 stables, that's like 5*7/5*7 F/G =35/35 F/G.I want to know the secret of the perfect trade transition. It's either "I don't build army in early imp to get trade" or "I ran out of gold, damn it, let's build some trade" for me.
If you have the needed 45-55farms, to get Paladin tech etc, w-income to support the farms (~2W for each 10farms = ~10W), W for 3-4x markets making trade = 4*4W = 16W, round some up for Uni and whatevs other up-front investment needs, you have minimum 45-55F/30W/40G eco needed to make army and trade both, before gold runs out. (usually you take ppl off that 30W to gold during Imperial transition, so you have the necessary wood-bank to do what you need).
That's 125+ vills, not just 100. So you will not be able to have as smooth a transition as TheMax did in that g1, unless you have that vill-pop working, at least for some while. You just delete W/F vills after trade/army starts requiring pop, which we see TheMax doing at 41ish mins.
