Exciting news ..
How is the casting lineup looking? T90, Nili, Memb coming ?
It's almost like you didn't watch the trailer that has that exact information in it

When do you ever need 2 hrs to reply though? The last replies took 4 and 3 minutes respectively...Nah man, it's easier to wait 2 hours for a forum reply
hello, captain obvious here. i would like to say yesWait.. DE showmatch.. You mean you are going to get an early preview/access to AOE-II DE?
The Administration may at any time make changes to these rules, in the case of any rule changes or updates team Captains and Administrators will be notified directly.
Just so I understand correctly:
Escape launched this tournament by presenting teams with a 29 page rulebook which had to be followed closely, prompting an 8 page long thread here just to understand these rules. In Rule A1 you state:
In this instance you didn't do this, you informed the teams that Suomi would be present at the LAN (the assumption was for a showmatch). You did not state that they would also be competing for 1st place, as that's a pretty one sided bet, you are putting either Secret or aM in a position of losing what was guaranteed money by placing third.
This tournament is in concert with Microsoft and was launched as part of a great effort to have a large professional tournament and test the waters as a pseudo e-sport. After a tournament that has literally taken longer than it takes to produce a human child, at the last minute you are adding a third finalist without really giving a reason beyond extra budget. I have to assume you are aware that both teams presumably put in industrial amounts of effort to become finalists and secure the requisite prize pool. Why not just increase the prize pool like any normal business would do instead of this carny behaviour of flipping the rules because of "hype".
I've made this point before, but the more you pull crap like this in so called "showcase events", the more you delegimitize the game from being taken seriously as an esport. Again, to use the point I've used previously, many of the potential sponsors of events like this are gambling sites. Changing the number of finalists on the fly for reasons of "hype" isn't really the kind of behaviour that they can make money from. I would argue that one thing more "hype" than having 3 finalists would be having a game that is taken seriously by other businesses as an esport and can be marketed as such, allowing for a long term financial future for everyone.
Just my 2 cents

This conversation happened over a month ago. Until today there hasn't been a single question, concern or negativity that has come my way from aM about this change."Kk, I think that’s actually really cool "
...
"Yeah, having 3 full teams there is going to be super hype "
As in this post and my previous one, the majority of my point is around the growth of the game as an esport.
Why not just increase the prize pool like any normal business would do instead of this carny behaviour of flipping the rules because of "hype".
Well if any team not played with full intentions thus get 4+ place then Suomi ofc deserves more the spotIf the remaining teams (specially SY) knew 2-3 months back that there is a 3rd spot in LAN I'm sure the later stages of ECL would be played with different intentions.
We absolutely notified both team captains of aM and Secret about the change. What you make incorrect assumptions about is no fault but your own.
If you're concerned about anyone's integrity when it comes to promoting AoE2 as an eSport then you're looking at the wrong person.
