TIMELINE (Updated!):
Games will be played on:
2 teams - Round 4: (Final): Feb 15th and onwards.
TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:
The tournament format will be single elimination best of 3 matches, with the finals being a best of 5.
There will be 16 teams, each comprising of 7 players: 1 Tier 1 Captain, 1 tier 2 player and 2 players from each remaining tier. A lower tier player can not be replaced by a higher tier player (A team must always consist of at least one tier 4 player).
On Draft Day, all Team Captains will participate in a live draft to pick their roster using a snake draft format where the lowest seeded tier 1 player picks first in round 1 and 3. At the end of Draft Day, we will have 16 teams with 1 player from t1 and t2, and 2 players from t3 and t4.
CIV DRAFT (Round 1 - 3, best of 3)
Team Captains will pick a pool of 15 civs at the start of the round with no bans and no snipes. These Captains Mode presets will be available shortly. The drafting of civs is very important as no civ can be repeated and players can only choose from the 15 civs that their captain picks.
Round 1 draft: https://aoe2cm.net/preset/DtYBW - Higher seeded captain is host.
Round 2 and 3 draft will be updated today.
This includes a high degree of teamwork and strategy development before the round begins. For example, the teams have to decide which players use which civs in which positions depending on their enemy teams and enemy civs. The best prepared teams going into the round will have a strategic advantage!
