AOE-II DE Do Hindustani have a weakness?

Every game I played against them I had no idea what units to make now that they have very strong hard counters for Archer, Cav and Infantry units.

Do Mayans have camels that shred every cav unit? But if you mean Mayans counter Indians I could see eagle wariors working but only 3 civs have them... (5 if you include Goth and Hindustani UU)

DLC civs = paid to win content. I would even consider to just quit against these civs. If people want to pay money to win, then i wont wanna waste my time.

They are not part of the DLC everyone has them.

Good point. Then the devs made the same mistake as i did. They thought they are part of the DLC and need to be OP.

I'm a noob, but I think needing a castle to be able to produce a proper conter unit it's not precisely something I would call "strong".

I guess they're still weak against infantry and archers, but not to the same extent they were before

Funny enough, hindustani are in my opinion the hardest to counter out of all new DLC civs. The other DLC civs (that you have to pay for) seem to have less versatility.

For example bengalis really dont enjoy facing genoese xbows.
And gurjaras probably struggle versus SO/halbs.

Indians have more options, now that they have a unique unit strong versus archers.

There new UU is a Eagle warrior with up to 10 PA, there camels are better against melee and the UT gives +2 range to HC now.

Up to 8 PA actually, Hindustanis still don't get plate mail.

I think they should lose Hussar and Halberdier at the minimum. Also there new HC are actually very strong they even destroy Skirmishers without bracers.

There UU is so good at raiding they don't need hussar.

Indians haven't really changed much at all, except for their UU

Their castle age cav is SIGNIFICANTLY weaker, due to lacking +1 PA.
In imp, their imperial camel loses 1 attack, while their PA is pretty much the same, just that now they need to spend the additional resources to research plate barding (which basically only give +1 melee armour relatively speaking, which is kinda irrelevant when it comes to cav).
But, they also attack faster. Which means, accounting for the -1 attack as well, they probably fare around same as before against non cav units, while they fare better against cav units.

Indians lost parthian tactics, which means their cav archer play isn't as strong as before. Plus, lost access to EA as well.

It's really hard to get the ghulams going, cause they need castles to be produced. So, it's not like Eagle warriors which can be spammed whenever.

IMO current Indians are somewhat easier to deal with than previous Indians in castle age/early imp.
Because the lack of +1PA in castle age is gonna hurt a lot. The archer play is going to be stronger against them than before, because it will be hard to get build castle, and mass the "eagle warriors".
But their mid-late imperial age is arguably stronger now.

Hindustanis is in my opinion a top tier civ. Far from OP since mayans still exists in the game and haven't been nerfed yet.

Seige elephants are cheat unit? Why?

They have their strengths and weaknesses. But overall, I think they're weaker than rams. They get completely melted by pikes and halbs, which means the new Indian civs struggle hard to push in late game.

I just saw the Sitaux vs Jordan match for RMS showmatch. Game 3, hindustanis vs berbers. and I just thought "why the hell hindustanis have halbs"? the combo of halb + Ghulam seems just to strong

It's just halb / eagle but requires castles?

with ghulams the comp is much better against champs/2HS, which is (excluding infantry UUs and crazy expensive comps) the best counter to halb/eagle
