The battle for the Norwegian Crown is on. One thing this tourney has proven is, that all of these players are capable of taking games off of each other. But is MbL capable of taking a whole series of TheSnek? Or is Viper just too well rounded? Will he go for mostly water maps as his picks vs MbL?

MbL retired the series after the 4th game due to migraine. They will continue the games sometime today presumably.

No: they didn't finish it but the unfinished result is already in the challange bracket!

Mbl is an amazing player.
I happen to believe he is just as skilled as Viper and Lierrey (or extremely close to them), but due to being so good he often gets away with doing random stuff in regular rated games and seems to forget those kinds of things don't fly in tournaments, where everybody brings their "tournament mode" to the table.

What the hell was that thing sending 4 vills forward to wall Viper's golds when he was already so far ahead with 3 vs 1 boars?!

Even though people say speed doesn't matter in AOC, it's not entirely true. Watching both POV's, Viper is so much faster... And on open maps it matters a lot, can easily be the difference. Unfortunately it's more like a talent so I have no idea how Mbl can ever be better than Viper. Maybe he can't.

That Cross game was amazing, if you haven't seen it yet you should!

Viper's banked resources letting him create so many light cav even after his economy got shredded by eagles is why he was able to come back.

Being careful in which situations you sell your resources off matters!

Also he invested in fish traps after exhausting all the fish from the two ponds he had secured. That was a 20 fishing ship food economy that could not be raided by the eagles and that enabled him to keep producing army. Really smart move there.

Honestly you can't deny mbl played a solid good games despite his migraine and still gave viper at least a good run for his money. I hope mbl at least wins another game today. Would love to see 4-2 or 4-3.

Props to mbl for picking land madness and viper for picking the underdog Portuguese civ even if it was mostly for Ørjan Guns. That was still a fantastic game nonetheless.

That and the final swap to champion where he could finally sell of resources to get it as well as having the relic lead. Organ gun + champion is tough especially when you're in a situation where you have no hold for halberdier let alone Pikemen

Speed is not the biggest factor in this. Taking efficient fights and which direction to attack as well as decision making matters way way more. But it's not to say speed doesn't help. It's certainly good to have and is usually the last thing that matters on equal skill levels.

I think one of the big differentiators is that MbL sometimes gets too stubborn and single minded and forgets other options he has.

Loved the pond arena game, Viper winning 2v3 docks by superior fire galley and demo micro, proving that in WK water micro still matters a lot

Exceptional series from MbL, Viper didn't look his best for Part II but MbL was extremely sharp and made the games look no-contest. And MbL could have easily been 2-2 or better after Part I if he was at full health anyways.

Mostly I'm happy for MbL to have such an excellent performance in this tourney, he works on his game as hard as anyone and he has had some very difficult losses over the years. To go from no-invite to tied for 1st after group stage is fantastic.

Na good macro is always better, sure micro might win battles but economy wins wars. Daut quote aside it also depends on how much damage you can do while still being able to produce with little to no idle time and it seemed mbl was the one to rise up today :D though I think vipey is pretty tired 11
