The AoE2:DE Deathmatch Community is extremely proud to announce the fifth installment of the annual reunion of all DM players: Deathmatch World Cup 5 with a prize pool of $10,000 ! With DM World Cup 5, we intend to showcase a fast-paced, exciting game mode of AoE2:DE featuring the greatest DM players of the world.

This is a unique event that brings together the entire deathmatch community for several weeks of intense battles.

A previous message have been created in June but since, we had to move our Main-Event to September the 10th-18th, so with the permission of a staff member, we write a new thread to tell you what's going on for the 2 following week-ends !

After 2 months of intense battles, ffavorite_1, Solara, Ganji, Daywalker, FreakinAndy, kelar, Hazzy and cortical_ join the 8 invited players to the main event !

If you are a tournament admin, you must be a fool to not invite Viper, especialy if he ended first in the previous edition ! But he declined and he had his reasons. And as admins, we all respect his choice.
I have nothing to add on this.

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived !
Will Solara, after beating two times TaToH, continue his impressive serie against True, the winner of the first DMWC ? What about Ganji who started DM 2 months ago ? Will he be able to beat a confirmed deathmatch player like bruh ? Can Frost_9, the most promising player nowadays afford to make it versus TheCode, one of the biggest and stable DM player over the years ? Can finaly FreakinAndy take revenge on Daywalker after being eliminated by him, 3-1, in the DMWC4 ?

Stay tuned, because we will soon have the answers of all this questions !

Final phases of DMWC5 start this saturday with quarter finals, at 15 GMT and following this schedule :

15 GMT - bruh vs Ganji
17 GMT - TheCode vs Frost_9
19 GMT - True vs Solara
21 GMT - FreakinAndy vs Daywalker

(Initialy announced at 14 GMT, quarters will finaly start at 15GMT)

Then, on Sunday, we will have :

15 GMT - Semi-finals 1
18 GMT - Semi-finals 2
21 GMT - Final

Again, those planning are flexibles ! Meaning that if bruh vs Ganji finish at 16 GMT, then TheCode vs Frost_9 will start ASAP instead of 17 GMT, etc.
In order to avoid useless pauses during the event.

Congratz to FreakinAndy, the new king of DM and the winner of the DMWC5 after an amazing set vs Ganji! We sincerely hope those 2 months of deathmatch brought joy, excitement and fun for all of you.

First, thanks to all the donators that enable us to make a 10.000,- community funded DM Tournament possible! Every member of the community that provided exitement and support in any form is part of making a purely community funded S-Tier tournament possible, kudos to you all, you know who you are!

Second, thanks to all the players. We wanted to make a World Cup tournament where everyone would have a chance to participate and that's what we do. This made the tournament longer than usual but we think it was for the better. We also included the draft system and it looks like game were more fun to watch at the first stance. We hope you enjoyed it.

Third, thanks to all the streamers who broadcasted the event, even for one set. Whatever they say, viewers matter a lot for this kind of event. Especialy if we wish to have more external funding in the future.
