Current Situation on Aoe4 and Aoe2

No I don't. I just don't want AOE4 effect anything on AOE2, that's it. It can fail and if it doesn't effect Microsoft's perspective on AOE2, I wouldn't mind at all. All I care AOE2.

Anyway regular players are coming back, pros are coming back, at least relevant ones. I was a little bit sad that we lost MBL to Warcraft during the process but he is also back although he is not participating to latest tournament. And I really wish that Hera and Vivi fail miserably in all AOE2 tournaments. Nili already got what he deserved, today he was grinding ladder at 400+ place against a user nicknamed fartsniffer.

After 2 months I have a feeling that AOE4 devs have never watched an AOE2 tournament, not even highlights and I guess they are fooled by Daut during development phase. Remember tournaments and all highlights from them: They are about micro, dancing archers, mangonel fights, archer vs mangonel/scorpion fights, quick walls, trapping scouts and man at arms, walling your vills. Can you imagine how boring Hidden Cup would be in AOE4... What a stupidity.

Game lost another 6-7k players during december, by mid february the game might go out from the top 100, i guess we will never find out "the potential" it had lol

If I had a dollar for each time any aoe 4 sell out streamer mentions the game's potential, I would be able to sponsor next Hidden Cup

I don't understand how a part of the community can talk that bad about Nili and others who moved to AoE4.
He aswell as almost all Pros/Content-Creators moved to AoE4, thinking it would be the next big thing which made completely sense and is the same as back then when evryone moved from Voobly towards Definitive Edition.

The big differences are just that the community doesn't follow them towards AoE4 this time, MS supports both games and AoE4 has new/bigger competition.

I hope they come back and if not let them be happy with AoE4.
Just feeling bad about ppl wishing bad for Nili and others, especially since i'm rewatching NAC2 at the moment.

That currently the 1v1 matchmaking in AoE2 doesn't give them any incentive to play anymore as there are too less players on their Elo that they could play against with reasonable waiting times.

Yeah and partly its because they themself went for aoe4 and now they are divided and half playing there, half team games, half trying to find 1v1. It's just bit funny how they complained about "let us play whatever we want, if you don't like, get lost" now we getting into phase "dam, we want aoe2 again, because our viewer count is dropping, but we have issues finding games now". Who could have thought...

Is Liereyy still playing aoe4? I kind of find it funny he resisted aoe4 for so long and started playing right before others started getting back to aoe2

And by permanent I mean Hera is still playing AOE4 also

don't worry; he will have subathon day 20,...100+, whatever it takes to keep the sub numbers high; still pulls in more viewers than most aoe2 community

This is just not true. Voobly to DE is switching platforms of the same game whereas AoE4 is an entirely new game even if they clearly tried to make it reminiscent of AoE2. Also it did not make much sense to think it would be the next big thing based the number of complaints people had about important things like gameplay, graphics and UX features, the lack of developer responsiveness to this feedback, and the tepid prerelease appraisals by players of other RTS. I agree with not being too mean to them but if they genuinely thought it would be the next big thing they deserve a little bit of criticism and some gentle ribbing.

Well some ppl do not care about content, they care about streamer. But I think and aoe4 results kind of shows people do care about content a lot.

As example, I personally really like watching MembTV, his casting and 1v1, Kotd was great, I even donated some last week to his chanel, although I kind of ignore all his BF games and he lately barely stream anything else. So for me content matters a lot and not even the game itself, but the type of game as well, i mean TG are still aoe2, but I do not enjoy watching BF as much, some games are fun, but often I'm even lazy to play Arena/BF, so wathing it is even more boring lol. Maybe also one of kind of turn downs to me, that often there are one of few 2.4k+ and then some 1.7k, idk, I just don't feel its too balanced. But seems many enjoy it, so it is great, as he really likes to play BF, but as most of other streamers do not stream as much or stream when I'm still in work, I kind of switched mostly to Survivalist. I mean everyone looking for something they enjoy most, also for me there has to be some regularity or not sure how to call it. I like to stick with some ppl who I can watch quite regularly, even if streamer is good, but he streams once per week, im not gonna try to catch it. Is good after i do some games myself to be able to turn on a streamer you like, ofc they can't be on 24/7 either.

When AOE4 roadmap was announced and everyone was so excited about it, I questioned myself because for me the devs were like "we will fix the game after 0.5-1 year" so why that much excitement?
Turned out that it's just hopes and wishes for the game to be good which is opposite to reality.

And how does Aoe2 communicate/talk any better? I would say AoE4 has more dev responses than AoE2. Both are owned and managed by Microsoft. Same lack of communication.

Genesis had about 68k viewers at it's peak, while Steelseries Prime Cup had at least 15k viewers during the finals. The drop-off is still very big of course, but nowhere near as big as you portray it to be.

The exodus is quickly taking place. Jordan just confirmed in his stream that none of the GL players will be competing in AOE4 anymore, given the current state of the game. GL forfitted the 3v3 TG tournament as well.

So only Hera seems to be the one doubling down on AOE4

I hope that they make both games playable and that I can use the same hotkeys for both games. Different hotkeys for the same units and commands in different games is not working well for me. The new patches for AOE IV are taking too long and people are leaving because of it.
