CRUSADE: A 3 VS 3 Tournament

A new Crusade has been called...

With a prize pool of $200 and much glory to be gained blood will once again stain the Holy Land as 40 teams come forth to clash in Crusade: A Druzhina Tournament

Clan Druzhina and twitch.tv/palm_aoe are pleased to announce a new 3v3 tournament, featuring a unique theme

Maps and civilization choices will be thematic and the tournament will feature 3 brackets for players between 1000-1750 Elo.

Rules:

3 separate brackets will be contested: 1000-1250, 1250-1500, and 1500-1750

Teams can have a max of 8 players and can substitute freely throughout the tournament.
The in-game Elo of the 3 person team can not exceed the max Elo of the bracket

Players must have 30 ranked games played, and at least 5 in the last 30 days

Fitting the Crusade theme, available civilizations in the tournament are as follows: Britons, Berbers, Byzantines, Franks, Italians, Persians, Saracens, Spanish, Teutons, and Turks
Each team MUST use 2 of these 3 civilizations per game. The 3rd pick is free from any civ. No civ can be repeated per team per series.

Best of 3 series until Grand Finals, then Best of 5.

The tournament will mostly feature open maps such as Arabia and Mediterranean, but also custom maps like ''The Holy Land''. Map Pack will be released soon.

1) 8 Teams participating in all 3 brackets? Or 8 teams for each bracket? (ie. 24 team max?)
2) What do mean by in-game elo? The elo at the time or max elo?
3) What about non-three-person teams?

Thank you for bringing forth these questions, I hope I can clarify
1. Each team can have between 3-8 players, you need 3 to play but can have up to 8 players total, as to increase the availability to play to minimize delay.
16 teams can register for the two lower brackets while 8 can register for the upper bracket.
2. The max ELO of a player cannot exceed the bracket in interest by more than 100 ELO. Meaning, if you have at any point been 1850 ELO (1v1), you're too high to be eligable participating in any bracket. And to determine your Teams' mean average ELO we firstly calculate each players' ELO average individually, and then sum up the entire Teams total average, giving a clear cut number determining which bracket your team belongs in. If your teams' average ELO is say- 1450 but you have a 1700 on the team (exceeding the 1250-1500 bracket by more than 100 ELO), you ought to register in the 1500-1750 bracket.
3. Players who don't have enough players to form a team with can ask for players to join them in #looking-for-team at Palm's Discord (link above).

We'd be more than willing to accept 16 teams in the high Elo bracket, just wasn't expecting the same volumes of signups given less players at that Elo, hence 8 spots
