I would like to make a complaint about decision regarding the arabia game as the co-leader of my team since Karl has been away. During the games I didn't do any administrative decisions because I am biased on this matter.
First arabia game we were playing with teams Sorck, Dreams, Vicvega and Zuppi vs Mars, Surya, Raiden and Ares. The game dropped.
Here's what happened from my POV:
1) During the game we claimed an advantage over team Immortals. My points for this are:
Mongols and Huns side, Vicvega had TC's and evenly matched army with Raiden, less mobile though. Raiden had no TC's (he made a tower) and Vicvega was going to his economy with big force at that point, which couldn't have been stopped by Geen imo. Huns pocket had similar economy with Mongols and he was going to start flooding knights. The other side Mayans and Chinese were evenly boomed in pocket and flank. Mayan flank had castle up and boom going earlier compared to flank china.
The game has been posted in StorM POV pack.
2) Zuppi appeared as dropped player, but he was chatting in game and his connection didn't drop, so NAT was the issue what made him drop.
3) We were there and ready to restore the game. Suddenly Surya had to leave without further notice. They discussed before the game that he had to go to a funeral, but then he came back and started playing. At this point I can only assume that he's skipping it and we will play the arabia.
After Surya had left we were forced to negotiations to start a NEW arabia, even I insist for penalty point and rescheduling the game, and after reconsidering, aw. I was convinced that there wont be such thing and considering how hard scheduling would be, under pressure, we agreed to start a new game, since our request for winning that game was also denied. Note that it has been like 5-6 hours at this point since first games. We were tired and I had to agree to it since I wasn't left with any other options.
4) Not restoring a game right after it has been dropped and allowing it to happen and forcing to start a new game shouldn't be allowed. This open too much possibilities to abuse the situation. When other team can't restore the game, the game should count as a lose. Our civ positions and player positions changed and they replaced one player with a new player for arabia game.
5) Even the games weren't scheduled. If you accept to play the games, then you should play them. We already started the game and suddenly their played leaving without any notice. This should count the same way as normal scheduled game. Whether they confirmed the time or didn't confirm it is irrelevant. Surya went to funerals according to Immortals, so he didn't have technical problems. He just left.
And you can't blame StorM for the scheduling especially since Immortals scheduling was really under the par by disabling playing during the week (we couldn't use Shine because of that), friday not an option either and Saturday they weren't sure if they can play either before evening 22 GMT. So we were basically left with Sunday which we couldn't play (the only times we couldn't play were Saturday 22 GMT-Sunday). You can read more here: viewtopic.php?f=422&t=68181. See the range of times we suggest also regarding that we could have played during the week and Friday.
6) There was no fault from our side. Game dropped because of NAT and we were ready to restore the game immediately. Even Zuppi would have dropped and Chango needs NAT, that is irrelevant.
Before someone throws in the card of sore losers or bad sportmanship. Please see the recorded game pack. We saved the game when Geen deleted his scout. I wont start complaining about them restarting Yucatan game because of 1 stuck sheep where they resigned instead of saving the game. We let them restart even they say restart after 5 minutes has gone.
If we followed the decision that we got from first arabia. We could have just not restore the arabia game, make Vicvega disappear, because he said he couldn't play so late anymore and then claim for new arabia. This is what forcing to play a new game makes possible.
I am leaving this in the hands of staff (Buga and Tom). Who can then decide if a restore or admin lose is at it place or should this matter be decided by the council.
In the end I just want to say, that they won the last arabia game fair and played better. But I would like to note, that in high level games like this, small things determine winners. And that's why I feel we have got a justice murder in our hands from the first arabia game.
Otherwise, well played Immortals. You really played better than we did in all the games that you won. Good job and good luck in the next matches unless we wont get a decision on our side from the arabia game. Peace.
