Can there be at least one game in the group stage with team random civs? Already there have been so many tournaments with the same mangudai+plum+pala combos. Really will make for a boring tournament with only about 7/18 civs being played in 5 games.

I'd suggest both teams have to use 16 different civs for G1-4 and in Game 5 they have free pick. This would mean more variation and strategical planning when they use civs! :D

I have a strictly 3v3, FR-themed TG tourney 80% planned and written out, maps made and ready to run with the following settings, where home maps are standard AoC maps. The bo5 settings look like this:

Game 1: Set Custom Map (different per round) - No repeat civs
Game 2: Home Map of Loser of Game 1 – No repeat civs
Game 3: Home Map of Winner of Game 1 – No repeat civs
Game 4: Map Pack – Team Random
Game 5: Full Random – Free pick but each player on a team must choose a different civ

('No repeat civs' = teams must use 9 DIFFERENT CIVS in the FIRST 3 GAMES)

I was planning it before the Clan Masters but had to put it on hold once Clan Masters appeared on the horizon since I didn't see how the two tourneys could really co-exist.

Nice (apart from the FR aspect  )
Still I think that concept should be implemented in all new tourneys, would make things a lot more interesting and we'd see a lot of different match ups!

Top 22 Clans advance, there are 9 Groups first and second place = 18 Teams

Which 4 Clans will advance moreover?

On top of that the 4 best performing 3rd placed Clans will advance as well, making the amount of qualifying Clans 22. To determine which clan will advance and the position of the Clan in the bracket, the Clans will be ranked on their group stage performance based on the following rules:

The Clans will first be ranked based on the gathered points.
If there are 2 or more Clans with the same number of points, the game difference (Wins-Losses) will be the deciding factor.
If game difference cannot decide then the Neustadtl rule will be the deciding factor. This rule means that the sum of defeated opponents' scores plus half the sum of drawn opponents' scores of the Clans in question will be added to said Clans.
If after this there is still a tie, the last tie-breaker will be the original seed of the Clans.

After the group stage the Clans will be ranked using the method below. The top 22 ranked will advance to the knockout stage. This will most likely be the number 1 and 2 of each group and the 4 best 3rd places.

After the group stage the Clans will be ranked based on their performance in the group stage:
  • The Clans will be ranked based on the gathered points.
  • If there are 2 or more Clans with the same number of points, the game difference (Wins-Losses) will be the deciding factor.
  • If game difference cannot decide then the Neustadtl rule will be the deciding factor. This rule means that the sum of defeated opponents' scores plus half the sum of drawn opponents' scores of the Clans in question will be added to said Clans.
  • If after this there is still a tie, the last tie-breaker will be the original seed of the Clans.
The top 22 ranked Clans will advance to the next round.

How strict will you be with the Deadline? Is every match which isnt played or has an aw going to be double AL ?

I hope so, if tourney gets one more week delayed teams that already played the games in time are gonna lose the hype for the tournament.
Teams that can play the match before the end of this Wednesday are allowed to play that match. In no circumstance will the tournament be delayed. We rostered this week as a free week to allow us admins to rank the teams according to their performance in the group stage. We hope and will be doing our very best to have the brackets up again before the weekend.

@Snyper, I suspect that you are referring/asking about the TACO team, sadly they informed me that they don't have time to play anymore and therefore will give AW for all outstanding matches. I will update the bracket later today will all AWs.
