May be : introduce a new building that has all the techs from stable, range, barracks + ballistics, chemistry. Would be better imo instead of changing techs between range, stable and uni just for the sake of 1 unit.
It would make design sense too to have a building that unifies these additional military techs (as the blacksmith does for attack, armor). I guess it should cost 150w and be available in feudal too.
