Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes.
I am having an issue with my fog of war, being a weird colour and also flickering in AOE 2 on voobly (converted from aoe2 HD)
The only work around i have found is running the game at the resolution 1 under my native resolution (so 1920x1080 stretched to my monitor) and also unticking "start in windowed mode". (under voobly game menu, after hosting)
+ i have to set nvidia to scale to full screen (only time i have used any scaling options in nvidia or windows usually have it to off in nvidia and 100% in windows)
---I have no idea why this combination works, but the colours go back to normal and game runs fine (but i don't want to be playing on a massive chunky non native resolution especially coming from 1k games on AOE2HD playing at 2560x1440)
Is there a fix for this?
I have tried all the common answers in similar threads i have found
-I have tried changing my monitor profile on windows (Changes look slightly overall, but again problem is there, flickers / wrong colours)
-I have tried changing brightness/contrast/colour temps/saturation using the side of the monitor (All this did was change the shade of "wrong colours" showing and still flickers)
-I have tried the different preset profiles on my monitor (racing mode, cinema, rts mode) (same as above, clearly changed the look, but still flickers / wrong colour scheme) - basically anything i could find on the side of my monitor i tried to each end of the extremes (issue looks different but never left)
I went to voobly tech support and talked to Hassan (thanks again for all the time) and tried some other trouble shooting methods as well. Including:
-Changing nvidia 3d game settings for AOC (which seemed again to change the look slightly but problem clearly was still there - just again looks slightly different but still flickers.) - things like anti aliasing off , vsync on / off
-Turning on and off gsync
-running game at 60hz, 59hz (rather than 144hz)
I have tried using only 1 monitor (as i have two usually plugged in, both monitors run at 144hz one is only 1920x1080 though) - so i tried this with display port and hdmi by itself (Same problem showed trying to use my native 2560x1440)
I have installed my game using aoe2tools, i then uninstalled, and did the conversion again using the compatibility patch instead - both installs showed the same exact problem. (I haven't done a complete "fresh" install - by redownloading aoe2HD over again --- could this possible fix this issue?)
Other info:
My water is not purple (Which was something mentioned if it was a colour issue)
When i used all visable, everything as far as i can tell looks normal
I made sure that windows scaling was off (or any type of scaling on my graphics card settings)
I have also posted it on voobly forums here:
https://www.voobly.com/forum/thread/300947/:1328431#post1328431
and the closest description i could find from someone else having a similar issue (and same fix, with using the resolution 1 under his main) his is 4k monitor but can get it to run normal on 2k only

Not sure if this is related or a separate issue but anytime the game pauses (Continue screen, i bring up options menu etc) in a online voobly game - for the rest of the game i get massive lag (not internet) but game lag, scroll lag (when i move around the map) anytime i go to build or select something it lags (this continues until i restart voobly. Until again something changes mid game, then it lags for the rest of the game (basically unplayable) -- i have a feeling this is a separate issue as i had this same issue around 1-2 years ago on my old PC while trying to convert over
--- i have heard this could be cause by dual monitor setups, or mouse software issue - any ideas on this as well?
Really frustrating each time i try and move across have huge issues, just want to play some slightly higher level AOE, thanks for any help
