1500 food is something like you accumulate for instance for Paladin anyhow, and since they get paladin and hussar cheaper you can get there easy.Rule of thumb: any time after 1500 food is profitable (assuming a bottomed-out market)
Obviously when you decide to get the tech depends on the ingame situation (e.g. being left with 0 food can be quite a handicap if your eco is being raided)
I'd say get the tech in Imp after you've got your imp upgrades when you have at least 2-3k food
I think even in a 1v1 you're getting a market trade worth of gold with an addition trickle of 1 to 1.5 relics worth of gold when you research at 1500.I have chosen Burgundians in BF; I can conclude that in closed maps, when you play as a team you can easily have more than 5k in food, which is quite viable and profitable. Another thing that can be noticed is the incredible economy you have when you arrive at Imperial, thanks to the advanced upgrades.
In short, i feel that the technology is more viable in TG than in 1v1

why not both. The market does get bottomed out in team games and people are often floating resources in the late game (at least wood and food)In Tg you just trade
also there are maps like arena where trading isn't always so easy/efficient. truly broken upgrade on arena especially in TG.why not both. The market does get bottomed out in team games and people are often floating resources in the late game (at least wood and food)
you can buy food, and this would gain you a maximum of 125 gold profit (however if you are in a low gold situation spending an additional 225 gold to buy 700 food might not be feasible). You are omitting some very exploitable market shenanigans. If we assume the market is bottomed out, Burgundians can purchase food profitably until it costs 50g. Net gain of nearly 200 gold from that alone?
And then you've raised the selling price for yourself as well. Assuming the opponent does not take advantage, that's another ~150 gold above base selling price you would not have received.
Just shifting resources around at the market pays for the gold cost of the tech, and then you get a relic.
Definitely use it after crashing the market imo coz u may need to buy food. The "relic" gold is just very few for like 10minsRule of thumb: any time after 1500 food is profitable (assuming a bottomed-out market)
