I had the pleasure to write again for Team Liquid. This time it's an interview with the team's first-ever Age of Empires signing, former SC2 pro and caster; DeMusliM. It's mainly about his time before coming to AoE IV, his rapid ascent to the top of the ranks in that scene, his performance in N4C, and what lies ahead for the British player.

Leenock, the first Korean Age of Empires player to be present in a LAN in the last twenty years.

This seems incorrect, kkab was playing in the WiC Grand Finals, which was on LAN

TheViper, the unquestionable best player of Age of Empires II, who faced a greater challenge that week than in the past decade.

I get that you're trying to hype things up, but feels a bit weird to call this Vipers greatest challenge of the last decade.

Besides that, great article and good to see this kind of stuff featured on Team Liquids site

I made it thinking of 1v1, by my understanding that would make WCG 2001 the last major LAN with a Korean player in the top 8.

Fair enough tho, I'll send over the correction to my editor to clarify the 1v1 part.

I get that you're trying to hype things up, but feels a bit weird to call this Vipers greatest challenge of the last decade.

It's mostly in the context of AoE4 since he had to learn the new meta rather quickly and it did not pan out, something that he has worked on now for Golden League. So the idea is to show that although he is the GOAT in AoE 2 and is most definitely a top 8 player in AoE 4, that top 8 is not as easy coming as top 8s in AoE2.

I mean, he's had more top 4 or worse finishes in AoE 4 so far than in the first 6 years or so of his career. Still impressive, just not as disgustingly good as a direct translation from one game to the other.

But yes, it was also a bit of a hype up sentence :P
