My point was that Bact apparently couldn't play because of "work related" issues. Well, interesting....cause he would be working at like 10-11PM Vietnam time, on a Friday?

BacT didn´t even know he was playing that day, he never checked the schedule, he was waiting Saymyname to call him on phone, but they called him "late", only 30 minutes before the match, instead of 5 days before that was when the schedule was public.

Will make a post/video about all these topics when the tournament finish.

Hope you enjoy with the event, we trying our best and working probably the most we(team involved) have worked ever before, since TGs are madness to organize.

Based on how fire dresses for stream, it would seem illegal for a Brazilian to wear a shirt, let alone a jacket.
Clearly an AL needs to be given for performance enhancing clothes being used

I would say raise it to Bolsonaro. It is against the culture of Brazil itself to wear clothes during Twitch streams. Winter jacket is a no-no.

For me, top 3 pockets are Daut/Viper, Mr Yo, Hera

IMO the WWP flanks weren't at their best yesterday, but Mr Yo played better than TheMax.

You seem to ignore the fact that he could, in fact, stream with a webcam, but chose not to. It's a fine line. Once we allow one person to not use the webcam, just because, what stops the next person? No one really wants to be on webcam, so how is that fair to the rest of the players? You don't need to be a full-time Age of Empires player to show yourself on a webcam.

Feeling bad for someone that actively does not want to follow rules that they have agreed to is beyond me. We're not forcing anyone to do anything. You may or may not agree with the terms of the tournament, but they've been clear from the beginning and should not come as a surprise to anyone. Players that sign up for the tournament agree to these terms, and they will be expected to follow the rules stated - who would have thought? I know, baffling.

If these requirements are so absolutely outrageous, there's the option of not registering for the event.

Losing a player and potentially an entire set for teams with only 3 players is terrible for us as viewers. Fine players from the prize pool for acts like this, dock points etc, it acts as a deterrent while not ruining the spectacle for fans.

Heavy disagree. As was often mentioned price money doesnt allow more than ~5 professional players. Rules need to remain flexible. Who completely disrespects rules, or breaks rules that impact die outcome of a match should be disqualified. All other rules should allow for flexibility and decision making on a case by case basis. Yes, this invites criticisim, bias and favourism but is still a better option, than disregarding that players are humans.
We are not some big soulless corporation where everyone is just a number, and it certainly isnt desirable to become that.

I care about fairness but the priority for me is competition fairness then a few other things then cam fairness. A couple of pros have said if cheating was a thing the face-cam wouldn't stop it, I'll trust that judgement.

Feel like aoe2 needs a players' union.

Or at least a platform/forum for discussion for players where if majority of players feel some settings are anti competitive, they can discuss and bring it forward to the host. The tournament host wants his tournament to as best as possible and may not get the perspective of the players. They may not realize the settings are bad for majority of the players and makes the tournament less competitive.

I would love for players to host more tournaments and even admin them so that they get the thrill of making these decision(s). Quite entertaining all around and would certainly enjoy some popcorn while awaiting Chrazini's/Robo's post(s) in those threads.

The problem you speak of is actively addressed in almost every tournament in advance of registration and during it. There is a Q&A period where the admin(s) take questions on the rules and settings, but frankly most pro players don't even read the rules throughout the tournament -- so the likelihood of getting a bunch of 20-somethings to think about the rules and their potential impacts is unlikely.

This thread is another beautiful example of jumping to conclusions and the same group of aoe2 players generally finding themselves in poor positions they put themselves in. Friends/fans making excuses for them and generally suggesting more preferential treatment be provided.

People bitch and whine about casters not doing much to grow the scene and the player interaction/cams have been an obvious improvement from previous tournaments intended to help grow the scene. I'd say it's working -- and would work, so long as players cooperate. It's in their best interest to do so, after all. If part of the production value of the tournament (and in this case I believe something relatively new in a recurring S tier tournament,) is that camera interaction I don't think any player has a right to suggest that it could be overlooked for any given reason if they signed up / agreed to the tournament rules as is.

Hopefully some day folks will find the temerity to actually understand that rules are necessary for a reason, even if they sometimes impact their favorite players/streamers when they run afoul.

You also had a player not even show up that impacted a quarterfinal series.

These sort of non-controversies/rabble-rousing regarding impacts/negative feedback from holding folks accountable are damaging to the professionalism of the "scene." If people truly want the scene to grow these sort of rules are just the very basic aspect of a pro gaming scene, and are even less intrusive than other game handbooks.

Advocating for a change is harmless, but casting shade is unnecessary and would seem to violate the golden rule.

Casual mid level watcher here, I like the cams, I always wondered what these guys looked like.

If the rules of the tournament are pretty clear, seems reasonable to expect participants to follow them. I'm not surprised that the players don't read them, but that's their own problem, and they should expect to be reprimanded when they break a rule they didn't know about, including punishments such as exclusion.

There are people talking about the "pro scene" and "how people can make a living" but the plain truth is if there's enough people to play the tournament then the tournament is functionally a success and is no longer about an individual or several individuals objections or whims. They can choose to not turn up, and furthermore, there are really quite a few tournaments it seems like, so it's not like it's completely ruining their chances to play.

Timezones didn't work out. We would absolutely love to have him, but he would have to stay up all night and even early mornings to do minutes of interviewing.

if you have time it would be really fun to hear some team communication, maybe you could release some shorts from it after a team is eliminated or after the finals. Like how a team talks when the game is intense and so on
