I will clarify - I did not provide a reason to Chrazini on DMs as I had a private reason that I do not want to disclose.
I do understand that the decision made was entirely based on the rulebook. I understand that because I did not provide a reason, it is fair for admins to make that call. However, my argument is that games should take priority over cams. Even though the draft of the map pool I was probably only going to play 1-2 games, I would've still liked to participate in the tournament, and therefore asked for a one-time exception, which was denied.
I hope that this clarifies things - guess the discussion should be about whether certain rules could be bypassed due to the importance of the match (and because I have previously complied in kotd/round1 vs AI) if the reasoning wasn't clear (which I did not provide a proper reason).

The tournament is GREAT!

I think the webcam is amazing, the maps look super fun to play and the overall quality of the tournament is very professional.

I really hope more tg tournaments become a reality in the future with bigger and bigger prizes. I personally enjoy way more team games than 1x1's and I think it helps the esport scene to become a reality since it involves way more players.

Props to Memb, the organizers behind the scene and sponsors for that!

I think most players are trying to help put on a good show for these big events we take part in. The better the event, the higher the chance for more future events. However, my first thought is that Daniel was on camera previously in the tourney while playing, did the pre-game interviews, on camera, so if he for whatever reason he doesn't want to disclose, doesn't feel comfortable being on camera this week, I think it's not hard for admins to be a bit lenient for such an important round.

And I do understand that it is tricky, because if you allow this one to slip, others might try to take advantage of it as well. We also don't know if admins were given a reason and decided it was not good enough, so we're still just speculating as to if it was justified or not. I just think that noone would bat an eye if people saw Daniel play without a camera, with the reasoning simply that the admins allowed it. Noone would demand an answer, because they got to see mYi field their best team and play the series as they had prepared, whilst assuming Daniel had provided a fair reason to the admin.

In general players are being asked to do more and more for every event, besides just training and doing their best in the actual tournament. It is fine that we are asked to contribute to the development of the scene on top of providing the high level games, but there should also be a line drawn on where the show takes preference over the actual competition.

I really dont think that players are asked for too much in Age scene. And I know that age is not profesional in most of the cases, but if we want more profesionalism, and more tournaments and more suport, aka, more money, think players should, or even better must do this kind of things. Check others esport, interaction between players and viewers are essentials. webcams, interviews, everything. yes, now age is not in that place, but as i said, if we want to get there and more people live from this amazing game, we must do these things. its in the combo. you cant have one without the other.

Feel like aoe2 needs a players' union.

Or at least a platform/forum for discussion for players where if majority of players feel some settings are anti competitive, they can discuss and bring it forward to the host. The tournament host wants his tournament to as best as possible and may not get the perspective of the players. They may not realize the settings are bad for majority of the players and makes the tournament less competitive.

Not sure that should matter for the decision, rules are rules no matter the "importance" of the series/game.

Seems more weird to me to expect Admins to make an exception when they don't know the reason for why they should make the exception.
Then you have to make the whole Face-Cam-Thing optional for everyone imo (from the start of course) which could very well lead to noone having Face-Cam's.

We don't know what his reasons were, they might be rly good reasons, we don't know, it's not for us to say whether it was more/less important.
But so did the Admins not know which makes it impossible for them to make an exception.

I say that, because, he is putting it like the admins made a strange call enforcing the rules, when his teammate didnt bother to make any clarification to the admins of why he wasnt going by those rules.

I'm sure he did think about it. Probably a lot. There must have been a very good reason for his decision, because his team were playing in an elimination match and could've used his help. I'm sure he didn't go: "well, I don't feel like it"

I can think of a few reasons off the top of my head why players might not want their webcams on for thousands of people to see live. We have to remember that this isn't a LAN event or something, people are being recorded in their own homes. Who knows what could be going on there that we shouldn't be seeing.

Some rules should be flexible. I don't think the tournament's integrity would've been compromised if he was playing without his webcam. As Viper mentioned, people wouldn't be demanding an answer. Worst case scenario is you have people in twitch chat spamming about it for a while.

Yes Daniel can have a very important reason, and it can be very personal, but one of his teammates just wanted to put all the weight of what happens into the admins shoulders, so I was just being a little sarcastic about that. At the end for whatever reason Daniel couldnt make it, and the admins just enforced the rules.

It depends. In my events its normally a 50% prize reduction for not completing all games.

The thing is, if you start making exceptions, you will lose credibility over time. Certainly, it sux for his team but rules are rules and you agreed upon them when signing up.

Congratz for the tourney so far. It's realy enjoyable to watch and that was a pleasure as a French to see my Insanity performing so well.

Suggestion : Cam is great and it's a nice idea, but I feel like it take to much space on the screen. An idea would be to show one cam / team which switch automatically between players of the same team, like every 15 seconds, an other face. It would take 1/3 of the space.
The best would be to show a specific player while he is fighting/doing action but since Memb is alone, I think it would be impossible.

Next new rule: Please have your father close to you in a final, so he can rub your head proudly. Cause thats the moments we have cams for :D Else it has the benefit of seeing someone working on a pc like you just hacked a random Webcam of someone not noticing it. It is not like there is anything unusual happening except people sitting.

When a rule rigidly puts a lesser aspect of viewer experience over a team's performance in an elimination round, maybe the rule itself has not been formulated ideally.

yes, but that should have been discussed before the start the event. I personally dislike changing rules mid-events and even worse making exceptions..
