Probably this has been explained before, but why don’t we draft 21 civs each for a BO7? I’m sure I’m missing sth, but wouldn’t that be perfect to showcase all civs?

do you know we have same maps but just 3-4 maps more? we only removed 1 map that was called african waters that had all boars in middle with all visible and was kinda a "crazy" map, so the maps were 9 maps in BOA2, this time is 8 same maps and just 3 new maps.

i told them like 2-3 times, dont understand why didnt do it this way. also in the bo9 they can pick 21-21, and for the last 2 games a new draft with all the bans you want.

I am also really surprised by this. Would have loved to see some of the under utilised civs more.

Imo it's understable that those two semis were one sided considering that AM and GL are probably the strongest team. That's not a map problem at all. The games were realy enjoyable especially lost machos who did realy great vs GL. I think they had one or two games on their hand like the one when daut lost his wood villagers. But he did a great move by going all in one TC with berbers and killing everything then. Ggs to all!

Imo it's understable that those two semis were one sided considering that AM and GL are probably the strongest team.

That was the same case at BoA2 and aM only won 4-3 in the Semis back then against Suomi with 14-3 Mapwins (before the finals) and Team Secret/GL finished 3rd in the Group Stage with 15-9 Mapwins (before the finals).

This time GL lost 3 games in this Tournament so far, aM didn't lose a single one, it's pure domination.

In my opinion AM and GL didn't get better, but the others played worse than in BoA2.
Call me crazy, but I believe the one sided semi finals were still the result of Aoe4 release. AoE2 ladder/competitive scene was dead for months after the release and many players didn't play much, if at all. AM and GL players on the other hand have too much raw skill in comparison to Suomi,WWP and others, so their advantage got even bigger against players, who need daily ladder to stay in shape.

Are you saying that there is an extra level of anti cheat being utilized in BoA3 since there is zero spec delay? I'd really like to hear about it if at all possible, as that's news to me. I am having a hard time guessing what that might be if so, would love some clarification. My present opinion is 0 spec delay in big money tourneys makes it much easier than it already is to gain an unfair edge, but I understand the reasoning is to sync with facecams.

We are in their voice channels, listening constantly, we are watching their point of view at all times, and we are watching their immediate surroundings on cameras. There are minor other things, but those are the primary tools. Even a spectator delay has its flaws, but we hope to combine the aforementioned and a spectator delay for the future, in hopes of boosting security even further and making each of the tools stronger by all of them being utilised simultaneously.

We wanted drafts to be consistent across the tournament, which is why we kept the general draft layout the same. Allowing the players at least one ban each is something we value highly, which simply was not possible if we wanted to utilise all forty-two civilisations.
Suddenly changing this approach just for the best of seven was not worth it for us. With the considerable quantity of civilisations being used, civilisation diversity is hardly an issue in our eyes.
I hope that clears it up a bit.

Ehh, not really fan of that lol

IMO it can be fun to have pro players cast in group stage or quarter finals, but something like the grand finals should be casted by proper casters.
I suppose Dave and T90 will cast together, so maybe they weren't available. And I don't think Nili will cast anyway. Still, I think Lidakor, Survivalist etc would've been a better choice.

Also, Vinchester's audio was kinda bad the last time

Regardless, looking forward to the final.
Hopefully, it won't be one sided like the matches yesterday. A 5-4 would be amazing, no matter who wins.

Hope GL wins, but looking at how strong AM is at the moment, it will probably be a 5-3 or 5-2 for AM.

Dave is on a fishing trip - iirc from thursday to next tuesday or so. Nili is at a festival as a surprise bachelor party for Tsu_Shine. So both arent able to cast.
And I guess Lidakor will cast the June monthly final for Road to Wololo (AoE4).

I like Vinch as a caster, he goes into a lot of detail when talking about the game that most other players don't do when casting
