You heard it here first! The guy who didn't tell others to repeatedly kill themselves and wishing death upon their family is actually the toxic one.

I expect to see you out in front waving Big Scoob banners about how much he's changed and actually is a great guy because he's a top player and "improving the scene." If only those toxic haters would stop taking things he said or did and reminding people about them he would like the community more. It's so annoying for people to constantly bring up a well established pattern of behavior.

What is toxic or not is in the subjective realm, at least when analysing it rationally. So it's tricky. Still, there are different types of toxicity.

Big Scoob does it the obvious way, and most people tend to agree that it is in fact toxicity.

Then there's the passive aggressive **** where less people will see it as toxic.

In this forum some users can be non-stop being toxic with their passive aggressive **** and think they're alright just because they don't outright insult others. As if an insult was more meaningful than harassing or vilifying someone, just to give an example.

I concede there's also a point to be made somewhat similar to yours. But maybe the exaggeration didn't help you. Regardless of where those theatrics came from, they make it easier for others to pick up there's something personal or fishy in there.

Onto your point though. People do indeed become very lax when judging people they like. It happens to mostly everyone, albeit at very different degrees. When you mother does something shitty you tend to ignore it sooner or later, or at the very least you don't fixate on it. But when the aoe2 streamer you hate does it then it's another story...

We should indeed stop following people and more importantly even ideas in that way, even those ideas that are counterculture. I could go on forever about it, this is sadly a key thing in the making of societies that are more dystopian every day. Also key in the empowering of polarisation, tribalism, etc. It is one of the main tools used against us. Very interesting topic for me but totally out of place here.

I can already see the "Big Scoob reformed," "Big Scoob only said it once and it was a whole year ago," and "Big Scoob was just kidding and has matured," posts now.

I don't think such a statement is as controversial or exaggerated as you suggest, especially if it weren't true.

Why is it so difficult to accept and acknowledge that top players get a pass?

If someone had opened a thread about a history of events from one of the chosen one's you'd have teammates and half of forgotten empires claiming aoezone is the worst and that moderation is severely lacking.

They did change them slightly about 1.5 years ago then started deleting my posts for simply mentioning events that were well documented and widely discussed on aoezone while letting well known players break the same rules that were anapplicably being enforced on my posts

I do recall a terms and conditions update but I believe that's when deathcounter threatened to use the arbitration clause 11. A lot of old forums had that ombudsman type role as a standard t/c back in the day.

if you feel that these matters should be openly discussed and critiqued, then why are you refusing to openly discuss and critique it?

did a situation even happen? if so, was it that big of a deal? it seems quite sketchy that you are so resistant to revealing what you are referring to. could it be because the answer to one of those questions is "no", and you would prefer to keep things ambiguous to save face while getting the personal satisfaction of venting about your weird obsession with a few specific streamers?
