I love the launch easter egg, where it almost crashes at launch and displays a C++ error, yet somehow launches a minute later.
Had the same issue. Funnily, if you don't give it permission when it asks it won't display an issue and will run.I love the launch easter egg, where it almost crashes at launch and displays a C++ error, yet somehow launches a minute later.
I swear that website is a hell pit. There isn't any actual developer's work in these patches, so no need to be "respectful of the devs".
Taunts is just messing around with audio files, a few minor visual changes that simply add to existing visuals, bugfixes they themselves introduced, simple stat changes that have been well-documented since before UP 1.5... any actual code-work they either haven't worked on or totally botched up.
Any respect the developers "deserve", is simply work delivered before DE was even conceived: FE, WK, UP, modders etc.
On top of that it is clear the current developer team is getting held back: they don't have proper support from Microsoft, and I am not talking about marketing/sponsoring here. I mean actual technically capable people giving their full attention and passion.
It's all low-effort content, and it is working; go check the official ageofempires.com website and game reviews: they're loving it! The McDonalds reference is intended: it is also **** that people love.
I swear that website is a hell pit.
The devs forfeited any respect they may have deserved when they lied about the issues they were having with the path finding and unit responsiveness, before the game's release.
Do you find out more?
I don't understand what is or was going on there for AoE1/AoE2 - but the common factor is the Genie engine, which might be a clusterfuck to deal with.
<gif>
this is being done without proper source code
The final seasonWhat season is she talking about here lol?

Cause you would have to believe it exists and was not lost. Scripter once claimed that HD team has it, but by the incapability to refurbish two games in a row suggests that there exists no such thing. At best documentation and summary by ESMatt.
Anyway I don't actually love bughouse, but I imagine that analogy is like AoE2 DE. DE is soooooo disappointing. But we love AoE2 and it's still the "best" way to play, for now. But we can still complain and hope it gets better.
HD was a mess, forgotten empires didn't have the source code at their disposal at all, they were just civ designers and balance stuff, microsoft hired different studios for the game development, they touched and changed HD so many times that the game could never get good. They have source code access and also had it for HD as I heard it. So I don't even understand how someone could come to the judgement that they don't have it. How do you want to remaster the game without?
I've heard this rumor so many times, I can't understand that people still believe it.wut

How is it a rumour? It is purely my expectation. ES was disbanded years before any of this started rolling again. If you cannot pinpoint me to a message of Cysion or another developer of HD/DE claiming they have the source code, then why should I change my mind.
No offence, but reverse engineering everything is entirely possible, moreover with a proper team. People with passion projects are likely to do that slower than paid programmers.
