We are glad to announce the 4th Edition of the Argentinian national tournament. This edition will be called Argeking77 in honour of our beloved carloscnsz, also known as Nico77 (his aoezone/steam nickname), an outstanding Twitch moderator (we all knew “Carlos the mod”) and stand-up guy. Carlos sadly commited suicide last year, but we will forever remember him for his positive influence on all of us and for how important was he to this community. May he rest in peace.
At the same time we will of course honour the memory of JT_ArgeKing, who was tragically murdered in 2014. He was a well known player within the Argentinian community and particularly within his province of Salta. He represented Argentina in multiple Nations’ Cups, founded the legendary MaLoN clan, and participated in the first Argentine AoC tournament organized by Microsoft back in 1998.

It was decided that this tournamemt will commemorate the both of them. We’ll keep them in our hearts always.
The main premise of the event will remain the same: putting the best players in Argentina against each other until only the champion remains. We hope, and expect, to increase the prizepool through donations and/or other contributions, and we will be working towards that end, but we know that money is not the main allure of the tournament, but prestige – the names of the participants will become part of the history of Age of Empires in Argentina.

In this edition, the organizers will be Somrac and Kaivacorp, who can be contacted with suggestions and/or constructive criticism, as well as co-organizers chosen from among the 4 most important clans currently active in Argentina: XEVER, Team Maswi, DarkSidE and clan Sigma. We also count on the assistance of people in the Argentinian community such as FacuRean, organiser of the Liga Argentina.

At this point in time the prizepool is at over 200 USD. Donations are more than welcome, as well as other kinds of help (particularly from graphic designers!) and any and all suggestions and in order to make this edition the best one so far.

Qualifiers starts Saturday, January 29 and sign ups close Friday, January 28 (apologies for posting this so late, but if you are an Argentinian player and you didn’t know about Argeking already, are you really Argentinian? JK) We have received more than 110 sign ups so far and we are ready to go!
