Can anybody answer me if developers are around and explain me what are developers/technical support doing? Common sense tells me, that there gotta be few people around, trying to improve the game, fighting against the cheaters and banning them. I heard from more sources that devs are reading this forum. Few months ago, Id not ask such question - there were mistakes coming with new patches, but generally hotfixes came within days. Thats not the case anymore. Last patch allowed players to cheat without any cheat codes, just abusing glitches - and sadly there are idiots doing that, we had to wait whole 4 weeks for new patch to fix it. Since new patch, there appeared more guys using more cheats, by the time I finish this post we will likely have a new nr. 1 on the ladder using nick TheHacker, having played almost 100 games and being reported many times (I did report him aswell), hes still playing against the top players. So, back to my question - there arent devs around, taking 10 sec look into 1 game of the cheater would mean permanent ban. Microsoft invested way over 100k for prizemoney for events, but cant afford 1 guy banning cheaters?
Looking back to Voobly - there were people from UP team, CA team, mods and they were doing this stuff for free. Why this isnt working on DE?
This issue is way more serious than few ******s and the inability of developer team. The key part for any game to be sucessful and to grow arent money or viewer numbers, the core has to be as many players as possible playing the game on a regular basis. If youre top50 and there is a hacker around aswell, its a pretty big chance for you to play him - especially when more and more top players refuse to play 1v1s, because its pointless for them to keep constantly running into cheaters. This means that less players are playing the game, and thats a way bigger issue than having 50% less prizemoney or thousands less viewers.
I see few possible endings:
A) developers come with a proper anticheat
B) if A isnt an option, developers will be way faster with banning hackers and hotfixes AND get back resign before 1 min without a penalty
C) if A and B arent an option, give us the possibility to BAN certain players which will result in avoiding them for rated games
D) if A, B and C arent an option, get rid of matchmaking and implement a lobby system as Voobly
E) if A, B, C and D arent an option, next tournaments will likely happen on Voobly
